    @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I don't think this sort of thing is specifically a Vodafone problem. My mother (70s technophobe) had a similar issue with TalkTalk. Going to the ombudsman was the only thing that got that sorted and it took months. Not saying they're all alike but the tactics seem fairly common

    @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK This sounds like a fair trading issue that should be investigated by the Trading Standards Service. If you get in touch with them, you should make clear that you have established it’s a widespread problem affecting numerous consumers.

    @GeorgeMonbiot I was with @VodafoneUK for years, when I went to renew my contract they were so rude & unpleasant that I cancelled after 10 years and went to another network. Their customers service was hostile & dreadful. I'm sorry to hear about others having dreadful experiences

    @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I had dealing with @VodafoneUK’s business arm ‘YES’ telecom, their customer service is non existence and even getting them to honour the conditions I insisted on as variations before signing the contract was like pulling teeth! I would never deal with Vodafone again! retweeted!

    @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK If it is any comfort, other telecom operators too have similar problems. @MTNLOfficial in Mumbai India is sending bills marked overdue to my father 8 months after his passing for a landline that had been nonfunctional for last 4 years!
