The 1-2 days for number transfer has always been the quoted time but rarely over an hour in my experience

Bill Clayton (@clanman3) reported@VodafoneUK Rather than @VodaphoneUK sending the debt collectors in, why not contact your customer to say that their contract is nearly paid up and offer a new sim only deal ? Or do you make more money by just continuing to take full payment ?

Nigel Jones (@planetf1) reported@sxa555 @Mobilescouk @VodafoneUK When I've switched to another network before (either direct or contract->payg->back to same network, I've got the sim first, then done the number xfer after & once sure working. Works very well. No real loss of service except little incoming glitches.
