@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Same frustration with #VodafonItaly @VodafoneIT Took me 3 months of letters, e-mails and phone calls to finally have the contract cancelled after I left Italy. Employees on the phone were very nice. Letters and mails were never answered.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I had a similar problem with @vodaphoneuk back in the last century. I had a pager contract with them for Mountain Rescue. They buggered up in some way and we pulled our individual contracts. A few sharp letters later from yours truly sent them packing.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK George, had exactly the same issue after our mum passed away. Vodafone forgot to disconnect her Apple Watch sim despite my voice recordings of me closing the account over the phone. To this very day a debt agency is hounding me for the £45 or so they falsely claim I owe.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK I'm not going anywhere near them, if this is how they treat their customers. Thanks for the warning!

@mcfcman66 @VodafoneUK True, but standard procedural practice should capture this sort of interaction. It is damning that it did not I recall from my own experience a year or two ago how poor Vodafone customer service can be, a situation only remedied when you personally intervened

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Even the company that has erroneously taken over my line, who I had no contract with and was not a customer of, eventually (after hours more arguing) offered me double that amount! Do not join @VodafoneUK. They're the only company I feel strongly enough about to type all this.

@zackly_tho @VodafoneUK Mine is down too. To be fair this is the first time. Did they say it's a national thing? Hope yours is working soon.

@nick45763604 @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK 🤔 So much to unpack here! Aside from intrusion on privacy & putting you through this while grieving your loss which is bad enough. But are their contracts so difficult to get out of they expect people would lie about dying just to get out of them?!

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK ..willing to help me. Vodafone took my money but as soon as I experienced difficulty they fobbed me off. It turns out Vodafone did have warning my line was due to be taken over and failed to warn me. Best bit? After hours on the phone, arguing, they offered me £50 compensation...
