@anildash I can remember Microsoft trying to launch their own network to compete with the internet or so it seemed, I joined got an account then had to wait about an hour, via dialup, to cancel it, back to AOL it was for me.

@TalkTalk , @Yahoo and @AOL seem to have the greatest difficulty maintaining a normal service. I pay for a service which I am not getting. I am cut off from my email at the moment. Previously, I have been plagued by Indian sub continent scammers because of a data breach. #NotGood

@TheCryptoLark The idea behind #Etherium and the principal of decentralization yes could be very promising. Now in practice and leading to mass adoption of the rest of retailers and enterprise is definitely not the best network. #ETH is the AOL of the internet they are better L1 out there.

Those that watch @scrowder talk about his contract for his show, you should all know, this is just the tip of the iceberg. It’s one of the main reasons I’m at the America Out Loud network, and not aligned elsewhere. There is none of this type of tomfoolery with AOL.

@eikedrescher Right but I don’t pick Gmail the server. I just pick the service. UI and all. Advanced users can add different clients, POP servers, whatever. But I’m not asked to selected the geo and rules of my server. Most people got their first email by just signing up to AOL, Hotmail or Y!

By fail, i don't mean "closes up shop." I mean stops being centrally important. So like, AOL stopped being centrally important but AOL was never as big as FB and it existed in an era of paid monthly minutes. It took a turn for the worst when the entire business model failed.
