All she wants to do is reset the password as she’s been locked out & the response was effectively, go away and set up another account. She has replied, but I’m not happy.

Misharonmash (@misharonmash) reportedI tried to reach tribal IT via the website and they never called and I found via a computer tech that my number was blocked when he tried to call me . I’m scared. Michael and Yassine are two university students who when they were students they let me look stuff up online since the browser is locked to non university students but I never accessed it without them. I found one of their numbers in my notebook and I don’t writer private data like that down. Since then I learned via my bank about signing onto Google accounts on browsers at the library and how it stores info and I wonder if my data was compromised somewhere. But the weird thing is that My friend told me about cybersecurity. He was very helpful about being a protector about that kind of thing. It was Brad who left information out of things- like the many options besides syncing . Unless that did me a favor to preserve my data sowmwhere if people have been trying to change it . But it looked already changed in a way that it was hacked a long time ago like another version and the version of emails I wrote were overwritten. My theory is that becaue I’m missing soooo much allll my Google and aol disappeared I mean decades of correspondences was surprised that public libraries weren’t as secure as private university libraries. I thought public libraries would be more secure being public. Clearing caches and protecting data on govt websites is common a govt website doesn’t store passwords on its browser

In 2006, AOL and Yahoo announced priority delivery for senders willing to pay somewhere around a penny per message, with the promise that those messages would bypass the spam filter. The diagnosis behind it was correct. Email often breaks because sending is free, and when volume costs nothing, volume becomes the strategy (hello AI outbound!). Everything built afterward (filters, blocklists, sender reputation scores) is an attempt to patch a problem that is fundamentally about economics, and not about technology. Today, the same dynamic plays out on a much larger surface. AI agents can complete forms, take surveys, open accounts, and browse sites at a scale that would have been unimaginable for a spam operation twenty years ago, and most of that activity still registers in company dashboards as ordinary human demand. What I find most encouraging about Proof of Human is that this doesn't require the previous tradeoff. There's no toll, no puzzle, and nothing for a genuine visitor to notice or solve, because verification runs continuously in the background across the whole session rather than at a single checkpoint. When a decision does get made, there's a record behind it that a team can actually inspect, rather than an opaque score they're asked to trust. The email industry spent two decades learning that you can't tax your way to trust, and that authentication works better than obstruction. That lesson is worth carrying into whatever comes next.

You had to figure it out and there were no forums yet like stack overflow to tell you if your code was wrong. You’d text a guy you knew for answers on a 3 inch flip phone screen and you’d get on AOL voice chat or call them to figure it out. Hence why I became an engineer instead of a full time developer. It was really hard and most people I knew failed out of comp sci and became engineers. It used to be the hardest degree you could pick outside of advanced mathematics. I took years coding classes. HTML and CSS, C++, python and at the end of it you’d barely be able to code a calculator, card game or website and they looked like ****. I was the best web developer in my class and I still had a website that looked like I threw up on the screen because that’s all that the code would allow you to do. Lots of windows lots of boxes lots of squares in general. Everything was square and grids were big. Bright colors and ****** animations. But there were no rules. You could quite literally create anything you wanted and there was nobody to tell you no. I mean there were a dozen websites you could watch the Iraq war and people getting blown up. Crazy **** that doesn’t exist now or only on the dark web. They live streamed people dying and you’d go to school and there’d be some crazy *** video your buddies would show you that would scar you for years. We saw guys go record wars, dudes ******* all sorts of weird stuff, people hurting themselves and everyone had a crazy video and they never got taken down or suppressed. They were just there on Google if you searched for it. Everyone was creating the next big website similar to the AI craze. We didn’t have online Call of Duty you’d have to LAN party so we would build **** with our friends and you’d code all weekend in between halo and drinking at the dorms all weekend. Code all day then party all night and repeat. I was the infrastructure guy and I could build the hosting platform and my buddies would help me code while I did the network and servers. You’d actually have to hand out business cards in public once a business website launched because SEO wasn’t a thing yet. So you had to sell people in person. It was awesome. I wish we could go back.

It was annoying, and it kept my parents from being able to call anyone, but it was a very specific time we'll never get back. I was a young teenager experiencing online freedom for the first time.
