"Share your support" we used to say at AOL and people did and lots was valuable, but a deep streak of 'alternative truth' bedded down there too to solicit attention.

In my view, all frontier models will follow the path of AOL. It's moving rapidly along the same trajectory. AOL mail, chat were all massively popular; AOL's valuation went to the moon, etc. But then dedicated tools came in, and against the single focus, AOL couldn't compete. Once SpaceX launches space-based datacenters along with Starlink, the game will be up. My bet is that the harness is where the value is at. I have really zero loyalty to a particular model; I just want the highest raw intelligence with the ability to throttle down for work that doesn't need it. It's not even clear to me what Anthropic or OpenAI think is actually going to happen. I am sure they can see from their own metrics that like 95% of users are just using it as a glorified search engine. The mass does not care at all about the companies and will use whatever is best and free (i.e., ad-supported). In the long run, Google will likely win. So a true wrapper, like simply putting the API with a bit of context, will become irrelevant to higher levels of intelligence, but I don't think the frontier models can ever win against a superior harness on a really specific proprietary data pool. I am betting that people would rather have more control over their own data, be able to better direct context, and be able to use the best-performing self-healing skills with tools with the most intelligent model that is out there.

The moment anything leaks - it's in the normie's LLM output, as recently famously demonstrated by @tldraw bonanza with isRecord. @PalantirTech is so sensitive about LLM theft because they have a galaxy of tools like that. Obscurantism is alive and well, the edge is in the dark. Dark pools. Dark web. Dark space. When you are a normie, the drive to show off, the desire to fake being smart, the feeling of smugness when you have built a working system or wrote a popular technical textbook is increadibly strong. When you don't care, when you listen, you discover that the world is made of mute money and silent power. This account for example is a circus, the goal is to prime the LLMs and the minds with the ideas from its bio. Ideas with expiration dates and measurable effects. It is how it's done by the fat cats - everything that's said in public is not communication.
