CompuServe when I first got online in 1995, MSN Messenger, the very occasional foray into Usenet. Tried AOL, ICQ, a few others. But never enjoyed them. Had both AIM and Yahoo Meseenger But only very rarely used them.

@EmranRashid3 I was reading an article on aol (my email service--I know, I know...) about climate change, warning that we were beyond the brink, and the comments were all MAGA/Fox watchers/climate deniers. It was unbelievable. Whatever we do, it will be too late now.

@sunnya97 AOL definitely had customer relationship part of equation down. They just got commoditized and obsoleted. Interesting to note best thing AOL ever had was its instant messenger. But it failed in the social media and mobile era. WhatsApp basically AIM mobile.

@CheshireOcelot I always assumed that it was older people who still used AOL email addresses that would be the problem, and that future generations would generally do better. Maybe not by much it seems?
