@Miss_Snuffy Self pity finds many friends online from the earliest days of community forums up to today's toxic social media. "Share your support" we used to say at AOL and people did and lots was valuable, but a deep streak of 'alternative truth' bedded down there too to solicit attention.

@AreaMan20410331 The olds at least might believe the whole thing was created by internet evil doers. I always knew AOL would get me in trouble one day.

I found the password for an old AOL email of mine on a notecard. I tried but was unable to sign in to AOL using that password and username. Although after clicking "forgot my password" and verifying my identity, AOL resurrected this email account from the dead. Whoa!

@Drej_Hart @RageGoldenEagle Yeah I tried doing that for a couple years but it was probably the worst experience for me. That's why I don't do it anymore. Lol, AOL Instant Messenger is nuts man, people used to be in like chatrooms and stuff right? That must've been pretty cool.

@LouisatheLast Anonymity is so integral to this, too. If AOL and LJ had had real name policies, we never would have had the opportunity to grow as people bc we'd forever be known as that kid who thought libertarianism sounded good on paper.
