With MSN Explorer (yes that was a thing in 2001, competing with AOL) we enabled "toast notifications" and the name was because "the little thing popped like the toast on the screensavers." Real toast never does that. It sits there. It sometimes Burns.

Comparing token value to internet subscription is ludicrous. The value of the internet obv is beyond the freaking $50 you paid AOL or whatever ISP. The same for mobile
