Can safely say that @AOL @aolmail @AOLSupportHelp have proved to have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. No way of contacting other than email, no acknowledgement that Mail account can’t be accessed, no way of resetting password. No help at all. Disgusting.

@benjedwards school library had a dial-up modem (probably 9600 baud) to ISP through school district. At home was local ISP as AOL/Compuserve/etc. never had local numbers for me.

@cybrarerin @librarianmeliss Ugh! Good luck. My library has constant issues with our domain being blacklisted on spam lists because employees keep clicking links they shouldn't. We still have ongoing issues with Yahoo and AOL email addresses

@KennyMcITR They really did hate it. Not sure if it was a reaction to the match in isolation, or to the poor set-up of the Invasion angle in general. The whole thing was a rushed VKM vanity project from the start. Should have waited until AOL/TW contracts expired and done it properly.

Anytime we get customer with AOL email addresses, they (the customers) end up being the worse customers you can imagine.

@PatrickAttawayy Oh man. I’d forgotten about Gateway computers. I had one of those. I’m pretty sure my first home pc ran windows 95 as well. I’ll never forget the AOL dialup sound.

@kennedytcooper the real problem with CDs was that as soon as AOL switched to CDs, there was nothing you could do turn your obligatory free disk of the month into something useful, like an alternative OS boot disk, or a homework disk, or whatever. It became yet more trash.

@parkeralewis Cancel everything on the phone. Sometimes they’ll hook you up with a few free months. Did that with AOL and had free internet for high school
