  • budgie Lee 'Budgie' Barnett (@budgie) reported from Richmond, England

CompuServe when I first got online in 1995, MSN Messenger, the very occasional foray into Usenet. Tried AOL, ICQ, a few others. But never enjoyed them. Had both AIM and Yahoo Meseenger But only very rarely used them.

  • bhutch41 Brian Hutchinson (@bhutch41) reported from Lambeth, England

Still having intermittent trouble sending/receiving emails on my @AOL account. Updated password on AOL via Safari; it works. Does not work through my normal email channel either sending or receiving. Systems don’t seem to share info - help!

  • YardleyShooting Mike Yardley (@YardleyShooting) reported from City of London, England

I was told by a rep ref. AOL: "it's a very old platform.." as if that was an excuse. If it doesn't work, they shouldn't take my money. @TalkTalk is a useless outfit too. I was called for months by fake Indian call centres after their data hack. My home internet sucks. @AOL @Ofcom

  • thejohnjansen John Jansen (@thejohnjansen) reported from Camden Town, England

@teleject @meyerweb It kinda does though... With MSN Explorer (yes that was a thing in 2001, competing with AOL) we enabled "toast notifications" and the name was because "the little thing popped like the toast on the screensavers." Real toast never does that. It sits there. It sometimes Burns.

  • bhutch41 Brian Hutchinson (@bhutch41) reported from Lambeth, England

@aolmail @AOL @AOLSupportHelp having rectified the continual WRONG PASSWORD notice, today it’s back again but only on my iPhone 7+, not on my iPad which is working perfectly. HELP!

  • xSarahSolomon Sarah Solomon (@xSarahSolomon) reported from Camberwell, England

AGREED! Every kid except me had nice shiny internet...we were stuck with that shitty AOL dialup that we were only allowed to use to play Cartoon Network games on if we were good 🥴

  • lorrainemking Lorraine King (@lorrainemking) reported from Brentford, England

@NW6Rd You've just reminded me my contract is up with my absolutely appalling @SkyUK broadband. It's so slow it's like AOL dial-up

  • bhutch41 Brian Hutchinson (@bhutch41) reported from Lambeth, England

@AOL after weeks of “wrong password” still having major problems with AOL! Seems email & via Safari not joined up. Worrying as I’m in middle of negotiations! Help!

  • YardleyShooting Mike Yardley (@YardleyShooting) reported from City of London, England

Utterly useless service from AOL/Yahoo/TalkTalk yet again following my complaint reference the breakdown/failure of their systems. So irritating when you pay for a service and don't get it. I was told by a rep ref. AOL: "it's a very old platform.." as if that was an excuse. @AOL

  • JonRichard Jonathan Richard (@JonRichard) reported from Bromley, England

@yungcontent And Bebo never sells to AOL

  • sarahpilates Sarah Pilates (@sarahpilates) reported from Camden Town, England

@1womanworkforce If he’s working from the aol ap I would delete it and reload. We had a problem with aol a while ago. The old Ap wasn’t working. Change the password just in case on your web version.

I’ve been with AOL all my internet life. Just recently it keeps telling me my password is wrong; I put the same password in again & it’s alright for a while. Today emails appear then suddenly vanish, is @AOL trying to dismiss me. Help!

  • dancall Dan Calladine (@dancall) reported from Wandsworth, England

@neilperkin You'd think they could find a fix. This used to happen with all AOL accounts showing up as 'Virginia' 20 years ago!

  • bhutch41 Brian Hutchinson (@bhutch41) reported from Lambeth, England

@AOLSupportHelp Hi Guys, password prompt now so frequent; every time I open my AOL email account. Please ask your engineers to fix quickly. Thanks so much.

  • bhutch41 Brian Hutchinson (@bhutch41) reported from Lambeth, England

AOL Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • CataniasWhores Breezy Brie, PhD (@CataniasWhores) reported from Marengo, Illinois

Being petty as a kid was holding down a number on the key pad of your landline to kick your greedy sibling off AOL dial-Up. #siblingrivalry #aoldialup

  • FairLilith3 Fair Lilith (@FairLilith3) reported

Also omg memes used to get me THROUGH **** & now they’re just…terrible. Some pun we’ve all seen a bazillion times since it was first in AOL email forwards quoted over just a rando influencer pic? Videos of words?! I’ll never forgive us for ruining memes tbh, utter failure.

  • Caspearious Caspearious (@Caspearious) reported

@SoulBladeNG @NoRestForEvil Club Caribe was developed by LucasArts, I believe. It was developed for online service Q-Link (think Compuserve/AOL). Because of who developed it, Club Caribe is similar to Maniac Mansion & other point and click games of the time. It was fun for its time but expensive for a kid.

  • VanAilwood Van Ailwood (@VanAilwood) reported

@DiscussingFilm "We expect people will give a **** about us and pay us money forever, just because we were first to market." -Netflix Also the prevailing thought of the people who once brought you: -Skype -Blackberry -AOL -Atari -Caldor -Hydrox Cookies -Betamax

  • carbon_stink Aatreyee Dhar(Let sleeping trees lie) (@carbon_stink) reported

My friend @chandranisinha1 literally travelled miles, aboard a boat clinic to report a story on chars and then the person goes AOL for almost 7-8 months without any update. What pisses me off is some folks treat environment reporting as mere joke.

  • IsaacCe77843540 Isaac Cervantes (@IsaacCe77843540) reported

@DigitalChampYT Sometimes I play back the horrendous AOL login ringtone .. and remember how good we got it now

  • pehenne Peter Henne🇺🇦 (@pehenne) reported

he asked if I'd return it if he sent the extra. I stopped there-the AOL email did it. However I'm trying to figure out the scam. If I'd sent him the money back could he have gotten into my account? Would he have kept claiming issues, but asked to just have me send the item?

  • anette_beebe Anette Beebe (@anette_beebe) reported

@Klonick @davidakaye I don’t know where you’re traveling to, but my limited experience to a spot in the EU a few years back made me appreciate our network here. One place I went (and frustratingly trying to work) was worse than old AOL dial up. Seriously.

  • Atlass992017 SupernaturalSpace (@Atlass992017) reported

Cellphones to make a call out for "HELP"!!! Let alone use their Cellphone Internet to get help on Facebook or Twitter or AOL or Yahoo or Instagram, I suggest you fix that problem so people can!!!

  • ProJakeSmith Jake Smith (@ProJakeSmith) reported from Kalamazoo, Michigan

When we all used AOL, our parents told us not to believe everything we saw online. What made them flip to become QAnon advocates? I missed that forward from grandma that pulled some Winter Solider mind control **** on them to start conspiracy theories on everything.
