I use to write a lot in my teens. I remember firing up Word 97 and typing down my thoughts and saving them all in floppy discs that I got free from AOL 💾 「1.44MB」. I'd just wipe them clean and save 😅. I wish I knew where those discs went. I need to get back into writing. 📝

I love Apple products and always will but I crack up when a new iOS comes out and they change like the size of the font in the draft folder of your aol email that dates 1995 and earlier and people lose their shit thinking it’s genius will.

@KaiDrossum Someone's probably already replied with this, but AOL Instant Messenger shutting down essentially meant that I've lost contact with several friends who I only rarely talked with, who I wasn't able to get in touch with before the shutdown.

@hacks4pancakes I know, right? We had a exec way too recently that demanded we install all this AoL **** on his computer because...I don't even remember why and it was done. I interviewed somewhere that hadn't patched a certain set of servers for 2 years because of specific executives...

@truthsearch1957 @StavrosCharal10 Well AOL is one of the 4 email addy's I use & it's run like **** only use it because I can set up file folders for certain mail #Gmail has the feature but they dump the files every now & then & I not only lose everything but then they deny it.

@AnandWrites I’ve had a few “great job-bad company” scenarios in my life. In the 70’s I worked in the defense industry while a dove (still feel bad about that) and at the turn of the millennium I worked for AOL. I got through it.
