I use to write a lot in my teens. I remember firing up Word 97 and typing down my thoughts and saving them all in floppy discs that I got free from AOL 💾 「1.44MB」. I'd just wipe them clean and save 😅. I wish I knew where those discs went. I need to get back into writing. 📝

I love Apple products and always will but I crack up when a new iOS comes out and they change like the size of the font in the draft folder of your aol email that dates 1995 and earlier and people lose their shit thinking it’s genius will.

@theliamnissan OMG! It's hard to believe that some of my generation is really stupid enough to hand over their passwords. Emails on both of my AOL accounts are usually in the thousands. I don't even read my emails unless I'm expecting something important like legal documents.

@PhilHedayatnia i dunno Aol had flat monthly fees of $19.95 starting in like 1996. you could also do **** like Netzero to go online literally for free.

I remember guys like you saying they would never use a cell phone, eBay, aol, Facebook, etc … the world doesn’t care about people like you . It’s the direction things are headed regardless what you feel.

@JaniceDean @Twitter Haven't noticed anything. I have noticed that Yahoo and AOL are letting more spam through their filters at the same time trying to upsell their paid programs to block spam. Coincidence? No issues with Gmail.

@levie @Austen Can web2 and web3 coexist? Also, the UX, onboarding, and performance of @AOL (and fax machines, etc) through slow, dial-up modems seems terrible in hindsight But we made it to 2022 with huge accomplishments in performance, UX, infra, access… Web3 is probably on the same path?
