After much mediation and soul searching, I figured out what my New Years resolution for online stuff is... get better at replying to messages on Twitter, Instagram and Discord. I have not seen so many messages not replied to since I checked my AOL in 10th grade...7k email!

@PhillyMike My best friend worked in one of the towers. Luckily he went to work later than most people. There was no cell service that day so the only way to finally communicate with him was via AOL IM lol

Their email was rebranded as AOL in the last few months (AOL bought Netscape forever ago, back when Netscape was still a thing). I think the Netscape email address might have originally been tied to ISP service, which AOL damned well knows they haven't used in years.

@VerizonSupport I KNOW that! We've been Verizon/AOL customers, using the same Verizon email address for YEARS! I have no problem logging in to the AOL web page or to the email on our iPhone. It's only MS Outlook that's causing us grief.

Back when I was playing on AOL, some of my best experiences involved sticking it to players who looked down on outlandish concepts out of spite, and drawing the attention of desired players* because of those concepts. *Everybody wanted erp with them.
