AOL Issues Reports Near Oakton, Virginia

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Oakton and nearby locations:

  • Cr8DigitalAsset Christina Haftman (@Cr8DigitalAsset) reported from Fair Oaks, Virginia

@robertoblake I went to college pre internet. We had large computers with floppy disks, DOS command prompt, loud, vibrating dot matrix printers and slow screechy modems. This was before Windows and IE. Before email. Before AOL. Before NETZERO. Before Yahoo Messenger.

  • LessThanLiz Less Than Liz (@LessThanLiz) reported from Ashburn Village, Virginia

@jrhuddles @verge Every time a boomer asks if I want my online history held against me, they are likely talking about stupid things I probably said, but I think back to my Geocities FF7 fansite (lots of copyright infringement, I'm sure) and being accused of god-moding in an AOL Marvel Sim chat.

  • AdamLovesFood Adam Levine (@AdamLovesFood) reported from Chantilly, Virginia

5 Jobs I’ve had: 1. Intern / Mascot @ABC Kidzine on @AOL 2. Catering Staff at countless DC Caterers 3. Founder / Owner of JAM Productions and the Exchange VIPs 4. Sales/Service at @CustomInk 5. All things SEO @Appian

  • JaydeColer Jayde Willow Coler🏳️‍⚧️ (@JaydeColer) reported from Arlington, Virginia

He IS a security risk but I’d say he’s more like Netscape (old as shit and useless) or the old AOL software (kept around far longer than should have been because people liked the one catchphrase it had)

@Super70sSports to be fair in the late 90s it was AOL type garbage. useless.

  • samuelbhughes Samuel Hughes (@samuelbhughes) reported from Birmingham, England

Serious judgement to anyone who has ntlworld email addresses. AOL just as bad.

  • TheGreatFowler The Great Fowler (@TheGreatFowler) reported

The narrative that AOL/TW would not have kept WCW no matter what = asinine If they had better ratings and ad revenue, you know damn well they would have. They bailed on a sunk ship and the people involved (Eric and Bro) were a large part of the "sinking"

  • WilliamB3452 William (@WilliamB3452) reported

@Fightful It didn't help AOL time Warner wanted nothing to do with wrestling

  • stbgb schibs (@stbgb) reported

@AOLSupportHelp @AmeliaAber Can you help me please. I have been waiting for nearly 5 days now. I have sent numerous DMs.

  • gmdrunk Adrian Wilk (@gmdrunk) reported

@TheGreatFowler Their 2001 ratings didn't go below 2.0, which was quite good if we consider they were going head to head with Raw. They were losing tons of money, but the show could've been kept on TBS/TNT with being owned by AOL-TW. Wrestling was still **** hot back then.

  • q_macc 🖤🦇 (@q_macc) reported

I remember bein in AOL chatrooms as a kid lol, wtf, the lil trial CD’s used to come in the mail

  • ketokiki KIKI🥑🥓 (@ketokiki) reported

  • Miryaelle Mirya (@Miryaelle) reported

@geedraws I was 10 and had absolutely awful AOL dial up internet because it was the 90s, so mostly forums were where you'd read fics. My first pairing i read a full fic for was Serena/Darien from Eng dub Sailor Moon. 🤭

@MythicCDXX when i signed up you have to understand it wasn't even public information yet. i stumbled upon it in a round about sort of way. in the early 90's they had a lot of promotional crap. aol gave out millions of disks then screwed everybody by not canceling when asked but in all the
