After much mediation and soul searching, I figured out what my New Years resolution for online stuff is... get better at replying to messages on Twitter, Instagram and Discord. I have not seen so many messages not replied to since I checked my AOL in 10th grade...7k email!

@NoGoodCitizen Mfw my dad brought a PC out of a whim one day and I had to figure out how to use this **** in 2001 Didn't get an XP machine until 2005. And somehow we were on AOL dial-up until 2008.

@ohhoe I thought about this, I am this age, and while I was an excessively online child, ‘online’ **** was absolutely a part of IRL social life by the time I was in middle school. AOL instant messenger was a big deal.

oh Jesus ****, it's England versus Germany? My first exposure to E vs G was in 2000 as I voice-chatted on AOL with a guy from Birmingham. England won that one. He basically gave me the play-by-play. Lots of drunken happy people in the streets. "Girls have got their tits out!"
