@cjane87 I keep putting the emails in the spam folder, but the filter keeps putting the new ones in my inbox. Maybe AOL just sucks? Everything else I only have to flag once or twice, though.

Adulting department, successful. Cancelled an email account from an old ISP that I hadn’t been on in (several? Many?) years. Sorry to those 20k plus emails that are never getting read. Goes to the graveyard in the ether, along with my AOL account.

@NatashaCL7 @LefterisJP I hate it. It’s slow and like waiting for AOL dial up in 1998. The hashtags are never up to date either.

@snarktasticgirl This never happened. The NOC was supposed to be staffed at all times. As we walked out a bunch of people in suits walked in behind us. AOL.didn't want people to see the guy with a 12 inch Mohawk in a Danzig shirt running stuff. /2

@excelsiorator @jayriverlong @rhunterh So Cuban made out by selling to Yahoo. Their purchase of Broadcast is now regarded as one of the worst internet acquisitions of all time. Jcal sold a webblog to AOL.

@AnjaliEnjeti @DrPsyBuffy We’ve seen mode after mode of communication wither and fail—actual letters; Prodigy; AppleTalk; AOL; MySpace; the gd telephone. I’ve seen platforms come and go. I don’t think Twitland is going anywhere, but if it is, oh well, never mind.

  • CharredJawa

In 2001, AOL merged with Time Warner in a $350 billion deal that created the world's largest media company. At the time, AOL's market cap was roughly $192 billion. By the time Time Warner spun off AOL in 2009, AOL's market cap had shrunk to just $3.3 billion, down more than 97%

@ErickaBrehmer Back in the AOL days. before I became old and round, I just used to send people pictures of yaks when people asked for a photo. With the internet now offering a broader selection of images, get imaginative in what you send back. No pr0n, tho. You never know how old they are. :o

@brianstelter @JamesStewartNYT I think Gerry Levin's deal to merge Time Warner with AOL wants a shot at the 5 worst ever.
