  @FreddysUSA The code never comes. It’s been that way for days. Yes I’ve checked my spam folder too. Tried AOL mail and Yahoo mail both.

  @AOL is the worst internet provider and email service! That’s exactly why they are going out of business. They wont let me acquire an email that I have not used in years (which happens to be the same email for my IG). DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

  Mad as hell bc I had to delete then re-login to my aol account on my phone (shut up, I know) and the notes in my notepad app I wrote from the end of June-present were not backed up So many single lines of lyrics that were never going to become anything, gone

  I was a senior in highschool and was talking to a girl a year younger than me. One time she spent the night and I turned my computer on and hacked the company her dad owned. I found her dad's signature in the payroll files and pointed it out to her. You could tell she was uneasy about it but fascinated at the same time. By the time I graduated I had received three letters from AOL asking me not to hack their ****.

  @byoanarchy I will admit I was a "bad" student but they locked me in the server(aol dial up) closet for a month until my mom found out and almost burned the place down.

  Remember growing up, pre internet. You only interacted with bad people by accident or bad decisions The internet added the bad people to your kids bedrooms, your phone, and your mind. I miss the AOL dialup format of the internet.

  Oh... Just in case it hasn't sunk in yet AI being able to code as well as it does means that software as a product or service is DEAD AS A DOOR-NAIL It will probably stop twitching in about 4-5 years for most people, but expect some companies to hold on by charging subscription services until 25 years after they have become irreverent...   @fekdaoui @bot mine barely made it past set up before shutting me down for 7 days. "Bot credits" according to Grok. Grok Bot is is still in AOL dialup stage. Needs work and some tweaks badly. Save you money

  @IzzatStatus The subscription model has been coming for years tbh. Remember how AOL stayed in business simply because so many people never canceled? Combined with the full erosion of ToS contracts, consumers are getting the shaft big time

  @AbakpaJob You're right. AOL gave me access for free for a decade. Phone company didn't charge for the call or extra line. I never had a pop-up ad trying to sell me anything. DARPA didnt pay one government contractor.

  @brockpierson Best of all were the PackardHell Combo sound card and modem, which would literally have IRQ conflicts with itself! I spent many a long call (AOL Tech Support in 96-98) trying to find a combination that a particular machine would accept.
