Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • pseudnonymus Meme Gene (Host of Badfeld!) (@pseudnonymus) reported

Google knows what you are searching for, Facebook knows who you are and what you like (you listed it for them!). Any semi-anonymous messaging service cannot serve as that valuable of an advertising platform. The other option is subscription fees (AOL model) but you need value

  • FsckOffFash Whatcha Lookinatt 🖕🏾 (@FsckOffFash) reported

@TeufelWolf666 tbh never even occurred to me to use my government on the internet outside work until MySpace. My AOL, Yahoo, pre-MySpace BBS accounts were all nyms.

  • sillyposts Somnath Datta (@sillyposts) reported

@PJ_Yukon @phoebesmoon @facebook That was many years ago, PJ. I got MySpace on the insistence of a friend, but never seriously used it. Perhaps that explains my aversion to using social networking platforms. Prior to it, I chatted on MSN, Yahoo & AOL Messengers + their chat rooms. Thereafter it was mostly GTalk.

  • RandallUmstead Randall Umstead (@RandallUmstead) reported

@OurDailyBears Oh, I’ll never forget the time a girlfriend was sitting next to me in my apartment yet the sound dinged of her logging on AOL. Her parents had hacked her account to get intel.

  • VULaw2003 Rich Chesney Jr. (@VULaw2003) reported

@IMAO_ AOL? Prodigy? I vaguely remember looking up Zac McKracken help but I'm not sure how either.

  • CaptainScorpio Blue Marx 💙 (@CaptainScorpio) reported

@Jellybean__154 @BukkitBrown The significance of my being in the middle of Gen-X is that I remember the days when families shared one email address because it was their AOL login and they never thought to send anything private or important through it; half of emails were a chain of jokes from someone's aunt.
