Listicles. The most horrible thing that happened in… 2012. Or the golden age of the fax machine. Or 1995 when Microsoft and AOL convinced my grama to join the internet and start emailing me.

  • beachgrad05 beachgrad05 (@beachgrad05) reported from Cypress, California

@kevinandbean my brother had AOL and when he died in 2006, I contacted them to cancel. The ******* with AOL kept to his script they use to prevent canceling about how my brother may need access in future to HIS email. I was so angry by time I finally got off the phone.

  • PUREFILTH6669 PUREFILTH6669 (@PUREFILTH6669) reported

@gamescom PotterFanatic5 on the AOL Harry Potter board lol, I met my first online "girlfriend" there and we'd talk over AIM. Untill I saw a picture of her and never spoke to her again lol, that was rude in hindsight.

  • MattWriter Matt Bille - SciWriter (@MattWriter) reported

@RosemaryMosco I was around when the primary means of talking was AOL text-only chat rooms, and there was a lot of this infuriating crap even then.

  • ashoncrawley #PettyPendergrass (@ashoncrawley) reported

i tried to find an email address that wasn’t AOL but it was too late. i never found him. (and i am not looking for him, honestly, truly.) i have so many stories like this too. so many stories of it could’ve been but what would happen if…?

  • tobusyworkin onlyupfromhere (@tobusyworkin) reported

    @marcwparrish @RichardHeartWin @TKralow #btc is trash bruh gon somewhere with that aol *** ****.

  • Tommy2Tomatos Tom (@Tommy2Tomatos) reported

@Cribdilla @AOL Lol I always do a double take when some ones provides their email @aol but like a buddy told me recently when I asked, why fix it if it ain’t broke?

  • kclilback KC (@kclilback) reported

@DavidDamato6 @OneMan223 @EBischoff by the Time Eric was ousted , Ted had lost control of his company to AOL/ Time Warner and Harvey Schiller let Eric go and 3 months later Brad Seigal brought eric back but the damage was done cause AOL didn't want to be in the "wrasslin " business and starved WCW financially

  • PeteHausen Peter Nelson (@PeteHausen) reported

@DemonEvilMuscle @ReneusMeister @nodqdotcom Why didn't AOL/time Warner want it anymore? Bischoff had a deal in place to buy WCW if he found another network to show WCW. Why wouldn't any other network touch WCW? Was that AOL/time warners fault too? This "lost cause" WCW myth is funny.

  • DOOMbotMask D00Mbot (33.3%) (@DOOMbotMask) reported

@UrbanCryptoGang @Justin_Bons Meh. I lived through dial-up AOL where the network was always down. Web2 apps/games go down frequently enough or are unaccessible for upgrades. I see Solana as the mass adoption network for normies. Outside the crypto bubble I don’t think they’d care too much about downtime.

  • dtheblerd Dave ⚜️ (@dtheblerd) reported

@EbKoizumi @garrettkidney Valid criticism, but there is more responsibility for TNA/Impact issues than WCW, IMO. Impact became “WWE Light” and not the upstart wrestling company that got a TV deal in the late 2000s. If AOL-Time Warner did not merge, WCW wouldn’t have shut down.

  • pizza_b1tch pizza_b1tch (@pizza_b1tch) reported

@themindisacity @gaycrouton Me too!! I got in trouble with my mom because she didn’t like me talking to strangers on AOL!
