@TROLLN0N Before twitter there was yahoo groups, before that there was AOL communities, before that it was Usenet weirdos, and gopher. Same **** different decade.

  • TitaniumFury635 Taha Chaudhry (@TitaniumFury635) reported

@BenGeskin @aol I have this problem too, but it helped when I stopped signing up to shady websites

  • whatissecure whatissecure (@whatissecure) reported

We went from the walled garden of AOL, Compuserv, and Prodigy. To the free and open internet. Back to the walled gardens of Apple and Google. We did not make progress. We went backwards. I didn't think it was possible at the time. I was an idiot.

@KurtSchlichter I have a question about my AOL account, Steve, can you help me recover some money that AOL owes me?

  • gustavokov Gustavo "Tebet 2022" Noronha (@gustavokov) reported

@samstrades @MacroAlf Some of the hopes and dreams end up becoming reality. The thing is valuations often have a lot of conditionals that may turn out true or not. Microsoft’s hopes and dreams from mid 90s turned into reality, AOL’s never returned from the nightmares of 2000-2002.

  • LIfe_Love_Honey Life Love Honey (@LIfe_Love_Honey) reported

@JesseBarker @thecomputerclan Nope. Wa-a-a-a-y before. iTunes didn’t even exist. I just gave a vague recollection of the 90’s era graphic of houses connected by phone lines (illustration). I don’t know what kind of software/service/idea it was for sure. Might have been their attempt at AOL.

  • bostonlovinlife M (@bostonlovinlife) reported

@th3y0rsh @thegreentexan1 I keep hearing nightmare stories like this. Where people act a fool and then talk about how they bought a car from a company known for serious car issues now running on software that belongs in the 90’s with dialup. AOL and ford are connecting next month

  • AsCosplayedByG Gee Baby 🌸 (@AsCosplayedByG) reported

Someone please help me describe AOL to @Elegant_Lycan. I showed him a tik tok about it and he looked at me like I had 4 heads. He also doesn’t know what dial up is. SOS

  • JonBryant421 Jon Bryant (@JonBryant421) reported

@Messier_87_ They certainly could have bought some stuff. However, anything really big and they would have the AOL-TimeWarner problem. You are admitting that growth is slowing.
