  • RFWill149 Will MacNeil (@RFWill149) reported from Pleasanton, California

@TownBizTony Dude I remember the 56K days and at times AOL would have a bad day and you saw 28.8 or 14.4 pop up it was hell

  • seitz2all Matt Seitz (@seitz2all) reported from Milpitas, California

@maximlott @PCivilization @PrisonPlanet The barriers to creating a web site are far lower than creating a power company. We’ve had competing social network companies for years, from AOL to MySpace to G+. Creating another WalMart would be harder, but we don’t demand they give away products for free.

  • Zarasdad2016 Fazal Malik (@Zarasdad2016) reported from Hayward, California

    @AOLSupportHelp i need help

  • fvllenxangelx 𖤐 (@fvllenxangelx) reported from Fremont, California

t-mobile and att have ****** *** service in fremont 😠 aol probably has faster data speeds.

  • SANJOSEMAILMAN SANJOSEMAILMAN (@SANJOSEMAILMAN) reported from San Jose, California

@gweenmgwen Oh my God.....remember those days? Signing in to Aol....and waiting for a whole damn night, for a song to download!

  • mactavish mactavish 🌎 🏳️‍🌈 💙💜❤️ 🦄❄️♿ (@mactavish) reported from Fremont, California

@hankgreen Older than you but too poor to have a computer until AOL dialup because early childhood ed professionals get paid crap

  • johnklin John K. Lin (@johnklin) reported from Mountain View, California

@ccwu I remember being a Quantum Link subscriber on my Commodore 64 and 300 baud modem and that service disappearing fairly quickly. I only learned later from Kara Swisher's book on AOL that Quantum Link was the precursor to AOL.

AOL Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • miscelenieous ctrl + shift + n “eleni” (@miscelenieous) reported

An integration for @SlackHQ that lets you have your previous AOL sign-on song when you become active, and that horrible door closing sound when you log off or leave a stupid channel in fury.

  • femperson norah (depressed bread era) (@femperson) reported

holy **** i just found out AOL actually said "you've got mail" out loud when you got an email i thought that was a joke

  • TheRewiredSoul Chris Boutté (@TheRewiredSoul) reported

@L422Y hahahahahaha that legit made me LOL Now you can do support for people still using AOL

  • twitforbrians Brian (@twitforbrians) reported

@NESN Fix your feed...felt like I was streaming on aol on Netscape navigator in 1996

  • Mayhem4Markets 💸 Mαrkets ∞ Mαyhem 💸 (@Mayhem4Markets) reported

@FadeTrades @AllBusinessPump Except that isn't what I did. I pointed out your misstatement. AOL was not a close ended business replaced by an "open Internet protocol". TCP/IP existed well before AOL, was used as a part of AOL's network, and is still used now. AOL just had dial-up over PPP, what's closed?

  • Gina26287062 notpushingupdaisies (@Gina26287062) reported

@LlysseWylle The "promise" of good net has been made every four years for as long as I can remember. As someone who still uses AOL well that is a LONG TIME. Every time they use "consultants" to review the subject. Hand me half what you pay them and I will tell you FIX THE INFRASTRUCTURE!

  • JohnReidIV John Reid IV (@JohnReidIV) reported

@view_raw @justaguy620 @ShaneX1515 The network was still owned by Turner at the time so he wouldn’t abandon his project until he sells to to AOL.

  • Jason_Hankins Jason Hankins (@Jason_Hankins) reported

@OrangeFreddyG I made my AOL account in my late teens, so my email is just embarrassing enough that it makes me chuckle if I ever have to give it to a customer service person. Do you remember Compuserve? That’s where I cut my internet teeth.

  • shriram78 shriram78 (@shriram78) reported

@PrasadKarwa @ArtofLiving @iahv Thanks for posting. I was in the middle of an argument with a friend about what service AOL has been doing in this pandemic. :)

  • CindyBevington Cindy Bevington Olmstead (@CindyBevington) reported

@AOLSupportHelp The issue resolved itself after being unable to access for about 8 hours. I saw numerous complaints on the internet of other people having the same issue. Thanks for following up though.
