Maxine Sweetman-Ive (@sweetmax22) reported from Southend-on-Sea, England@BekoUK I bought a Beko VCS5125AR Upright Vacuum Cleaner in Red from AOL 27/2/21 and in the past week it has cut out after using it for 10mins and did not restart for 20mins. Not happy. I would like it swapped for a hoover that works competently for the use it was bought for!

Maybe they'll sell the IP and TSMC allocation to OpenAI or Anthropic or AMD, or spin it out into an underresourced separate entity. 2. GCP will do very well for a time. Existing LLM inference capacity is going to get more valuable over time, commanding higher prices. At some point, they'll be left with second-rate hardware that's been dramatically outcompeted by ultra-efficient RSI hardware and data centers. It's not inconceivable that their TPUs will literally have the HBM chips pried off of them to put into better hardware by a competitor. 3. Search will have gone from merely declining in usage to declining rapidly in revenue. This will continue for some time as a viable business, like AOL, Juno and yahoo, but with a shrinking user base of aging retirees or barely-online people. They will embrace every dark pattern in the book to adsmaxx, but their core "indexing and understanding all the world's information" will have long since been done much better by model companies. 4. They'll probably release a quite good Gemini or two from inertia this year. Not necessarily SOTA, but good enough to cause a stock rally. This is probably the last place for someone like Sergei Brin to assert control and save the company. 5. Eventually the massive amount of debt taken on building GCP and getting related as buybacks will catch up with them after a credit downgrade. They'll get ripped apart for scraps at the org level, with stakes in various AI companies constituting most of their value, like yahoo! did with alibaba. Sundar Pichai will walk away enormously wealthy having maximized ******** out of some shareholder value.

FutureAzA (@FutureAZA) reportedI mean, the mismanagement didn't help. Plenty of customers stayed with AOL for ages because it was easier than switching to a better, faster, cheaper internet experience. HughesNet took their customers for granted and the satisfaction scores reflected it.

(Using AOL was nothing like surfing the web a few years later.) So there was no easy way to go online and look something up, and resolve a disagreement. For example... I knew at least two kids at my high school who were SURE those were pterodactyls flying away at the end. I was like, "Dude, they were pelicans. Why would the heroes be calmly watching and smiling at dinosaurs escaping the f---ing island?" But there was no way to convince them. No way to just go on a website and look it up, and show them. The fact is, before everyone had easy access to the web, life was full of really stupid little disagreements like that, especially when you were a kid. Did the kid from the Life Cereal commercials die from eating pop-rocks with Coke? Did Alfonso Ribeiro break his neck doing a headspin? For me, at least, those pelicans at the end of Jurassic Park were the last example of that particular kind of stupid argument. A year later, Netscape launched. One more thing... I always wondered if Spielberg heard stories of people mistaking those pelicans for pterodactyls, and was annoyed by it. Especially when I saw the sequel, and it ends with what is very, very clearly a pterodactyl spreading its wings in the sunlight. As if Spielberg was saying, "Here, dumbasses, THAT's a pterodactyl."

I need to spend my time trying to save my life from the massive malpractice by Kaiser. My energy is just crushed every day. I struggle to write even a few lines. Dealing with Spectrum again and again and again and it never been fixed is energy outlay I cannot afford.
