Only reason I mentioned that song (Tarzan Boy) is because I've been watching a lot on NOW 80s on Freeview channel 83. I didn't realise that apart from some good songs, how much crap there was as well in the 80s 😂

@MediaBoyUK They will wind down satellite and cable from Sky and Virgin. Freesat is going the same way. Freeview doesn't seem to have a long term future either. That leave Freely.

@364690 Did this last month and my God did they try it on. Now only have Essentials on cancel anytime/no contract and that's only because we have no tv aerial for freeview. Also bought firesticks so even the Sky Essentials will be binned off once got used to using apps on firestick!

@TVmusicNews Away for the weekend and I'm here, remote control.. no music channels. How are people gonna promote stuff on Freeview! Hotel viewers need tunes! So we had radio 2 on, wasn't so bad.

If you only have Freeview you'll notice that they're just putting **** old films anything up to 70 or 80 years old on Freeview channels now because I guess pay sites bought Freeview channels and put old crap to encourage people to join there pay sites

its not one size fits all but i grew up with only terrestrial/freeview and most the shows had strong moral messaging (even if it was subdued) about how to treat others, respecting differences etc, whereas USian stuff was a lot more based around consumption and celeb culture
