@Philips @philips_uk @FreeviewTV I recently purchased a Philips Ambilight 55PUS8204/12 55" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV with Google Assistant does it support Freeview play as I can't get the apps to work.

  • SLCollindridge Sean Collindridge (@SLCollindridge) reported from Huddersfield, England

@AmazonHelp I bought a Freeview PVR on my new Argos but have since decided I don't want it. It's still ready for collection at the Huddersfield store. What can I do to cancel this and have my card refunded

  • palyniam Paul O'Flynn (@palyniam) reported from Gildersome, England

@HumaxUK only had this fvp-500t since 7th may 20 and its on the blink, freezes, losing recorded programs and Freeview is so slow. Has updates April 2019 but still poor. I would not recommend this at all.

  • Dc03Ker Dave Cocker (@Dc03Ker) reported from Gildersome, England

Pensioners, our TV broke down today, just ordered our first ever HD Freeview TV, paid a TV Licence for 50 years so why not embrace this technology we have paid the BBC for all these year @DefundBBC

  • ElGaineseo Simon 💙💛 (@ElGaineseo) reported from Leeds, England

@Philips @philips_uk @FreeviewTV @PhilipsCare I recently purchased a Philips Ambilight 55PUS8204/12 55" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV with Google Assistant does it support Freeview play as I can't get the apps to work.

  • NEFamilyFun Sam Rickelton | North East Family Fun (@NEFamilyFun) reported from Leeds, England

@Sharon43068108 Very annoying! They are now showing the same match on BBC 1 AND 2. We are in a hotel room son only have Freeview. Going to watch Bridget Jones Diary on itv2 - I have my fingers crossed it's not too rude for the kids 🤣 (from what I remember, I think it's ok)

Freeview Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • Ems1965 Emma (@Ems1965) reported

@Ian_gm_F @bbcpress You conveniently forgot to mention the radio stations, world service, website with free access to a whole range of educational resources for children, funding and upkeep of freeview infrastructure

  • JoshHarris91 Josh Harris (@JoshHarris91) reported

@chrisbardell @davidschneider If you use a subscription service ie Sky/Virgin then the licence fee should be optional until you want BBC added to your plan (then you pay the fee). If you watch freeview then you pay the licence fee as it’s funding the service you use. Just give people the choice.

  • chrisbardell Chris Bardell (@chrisbardell) reported

@Turnip_Of_Doom @JoshHarris91 @davidschneider Yep, ITV/C4/C5 will never be able to pay for the entire running cost of Freeview. So it’ll close and they’ll go subscription-only.

  • lewismj_waioeka Michael Lewis (@lewismj_waioeka) reported

@Fionasstalker Great, so anyone that wants to pay for that service should be able to, others on a budget, should be able to opt out and just watch Freeview.

  • macmeonly buggrit (@macmeonly) reported

@PCarmichaelVO @NadineDorries They don't maintain the freeview network. It's a joint enterprise with ITV and Chanel 4. Plus it makes money from adverts.

  • TweetsinEpping Terry (@TweetsinEpping) reported

@MikeAubury @markdavyd @NadineDorries No they slipped that in so the poor pensioners would have to pay. Now they are telling pensioners you don't have to pay, just watch a blank screen as its scrambled on free providers which include commercial free to air providers. A sick move. Sell off Freeview band width.

  • gro_edu EduGro.Club (@gro_edu) reported

@COYR26 @DeborahMeaden because without the BBC you wouldn't be able to watch the other free to air channels. The BBC run the whole Freeview service they depend on.

  • Evilgenius222 GrouchyMarxist (@Evilgenius222) reported

@mrdanwalker I look every evening on my Freeview app. Apart from war films, programmes about America & Australia, rich peoples hotels or stupid programmes about rich kids dating each other, there’s nothing on.

  • martin_frasehog Martin F (@martin_frasehog) reported

@RedemptionBroon @KrisGriffiths @JuliaHB1 It's currently 43p a day, which includes the cost of maintaining the Freeview transmission network, BBC TV, radio, iPlayer, etc. I have no interest in paying for Sky or similar. If that was £2 a day, it would still be a bargain. About the same as a high of street coffee.

  • PCarmichaelVO Paul Carmichael (@PCarmichaelVO) reported

@d0hertyry4n @wilsonfromnorth @NadineDorries The point is that these are educational resources that are free to schools and colleges, OFSTED approved and inline with the National curriculum. The transmitters carry all channels. Freeview is how the elderly and poor access TV.
