@Sharon43068108 Very annoying! They are now showing the same match on BBC 1 AND 2. We are in a hotel room son only have Freeview. Going to watch Bridget Jones Diary on itv2 - I have my fingers crossed it's not too rude for the kids 🤣 (from what I remember, I think it's ok)

@LlamaBusiness @skytv Bailed on them last year, never looked back Unless you live in the sports channels, look at what you get for your £, then see what would be free on freeview/freesat & what is on other services like Netflix

@SueLamerton @susan1878 @BFinham So much on freeview that you won’t miss much 👍🏽 Iplayer fabulous. BBC Sounds brilliant too oh and World Service, the list goes on. I think bbc news crap but so what, there’s so much more to the BBC but as per, many have got distracted and turned against the entire broadcaster 🙄

@mrjamesob The entire freeview system, built and maintained by the BBC. The radio we listen to all over the world, Parts of the emergency broadcast system. The massive international footprint made by the BBC, creating huge goodwill for Britian. All destroyed because of these petulant liars.

@c_newman2010 @ruskin147 Be interested in knowing how that works since would not work over freeview and means set-top box or app on tv needed and this will impact the elderly and poor most. Knock on effect cost to run freeview for itv/c4 increases meaning likely to go subscription too

@PumaBare So you want private subscribers to maintain the Freeview network that they don’t use, provide educational resources whether they have kids or not, provide Welsh services if they aren’t Welsh, provide for Disability programming if they aren’t disabled? Why should they?

@PCarmichaelVO @NadineDorries There's plenty of companies out there. I see ads on some channels that aren't shown on ITV or Channel 4 or 5. Personally I'm for a hybrid model; ads on a skeleton Freeview service, with option of a paid sub on iPlayer for Premium and ad-free catch-up content.

@jedijackles This will also mean the loss of a bunch of freeview channels that you get access to by buying a tv license and getting freeview with it, because they can’t be privatised in the same way, so that would also be really bad for the arts and culture sector :(

@williambecket @NadineDorries Hi William. The most popular way for pensioners to receive TV is via Freeview. The licence fee pays to maintain the Freeview transmitter network. Presumably this “pay rise” for pensioners can then pay for this?
