🐺Wolfish (@unit_1974) reported from Birmingham, England@Matey30 @virginmedia Nothing less than I’ve come to expect from them. Service has been so bad which is why we’ve left their tv service. Had to keep the broadband for now due to limitations of other local providers. Now watching freeview…

Damien Ashton-Wellman (@DamienAshton) reported from Birmingham, EnglandLooking through the festive TV schedule and there's no Muppet Christmas Carol on any of the freeview channels this year. Never wanted @DisneyPlus to launch more than right now.

Elliott Brown (@ellrbrown) reported from Birmingham, England@mrgrahamreed @BBCiPlayer I think I only saw season 1 on Sky 3 on Freeview. Never saw the rest of it. The classic '70s Battlestar got shown on BBC 2, in the '90s.

Stephen Neal (@Stephen_Neal) reported@UHD4k @Bobbinz @SVGEurope Afraid although I work for BBC Studios (which makes shows for the BBC) I have no insight into what iPlayer may support in the future. AAC was chosen for Freeview HD because Dolby had no equivalent receiver-mix audio desc'n support in 2009ish when the platform was standardised.

🇪🇺 M Lukhman 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 🇬🇧 🇮🇳 #RejoinEU (@LukhmanM) reported@AnewFrost @2006Sable They will get a warrant and come back with the police so you will only delay things if you never watch Freeview you have nothing to hide When they came I showed them I was watching YouTube and Netflix only with the aerial disconnected. They left acknowledging no licence needed

Kerguelen (@Aramith147) reported@itsGower @FionaMc79461755 @bosdovja92 Yes you do!!! absolutely need a TV licence to watch or record live TV on any channel or service, including Sky TV, Virgin Media, Amazon Prime Video, ITV, Channel 4, or free-to-air channels on Freeview or Freesat.

Gillian Jamieson (@GillRaeWalker) reportedSupport @silvervoicesuk! "17 million people watch Freeview each week & 9 million rely solely on broadcast TV, more than half of whom are aged over 65. It would be cruel & irresponsible to force the most vulnerable households in the country to require an expensive broadband contract in order to continue watching TV." I agree. This group does great work! They also campaign to keep our fully reliable copper landlines, which will work in any electrical or internet outage unlike any other option.
-
Graham (@Greyadder) reported@ThatsTVOfficial why is that TV2 on that Freeview 65? In Gloucestershire not working it just says no digital TV signal available and no picture.
-
Gary Phillips (@gazpunch) reported@Hadders41183 @Lost_In_Films_ I’ve still got that’s Tv 2 on Freeview, (65) watching Never mind your language now, well just this minute finished. Gutted if that’s going now 😢

His Grace, The Lord Godpikachu, Earl of Doncaster. (@Godpikachusan) reported@TheMekon_Venus at one point Bread was being shown on an endless loop on the "Thats entertainment" freeview channel, alongside "man about the house" and "Steptoe & Son". I never found bread to be funny or entertaining in any way, and other than the phrase "lilo lil", it is not memorable.
-
Tommy D (@TomDennison12) reported@FractalDoctor @DailyMail TV and radio is all that many elderly people have for comfort, especially living on their own with limited mobility, so yes, taking away Freeview is a bad idea. I doubt if too many 80 to 90 year olds have a fast broadband connection !
-
🇮🇪NOLA Gooner🇵🇸 (@NolaGooner) reportedScrolling the freeview channels this past weekend a familiar movie title popped up, Fever Pitch. "Uh, a shame it's the stupid Jimmy Fal... Oh, wait, is that Mark Strong??" It was!
-
Voyeur (@LeVoyeur72) reported@the_saffman @TheDoctorMagic @AlanJLSmith Not any more. However, BBC World Service is available in the UK on Freeview, so it's not as if you're paying for something you can't listen to, unlike when it was funded through taxation. Plus cable and satellite operators abroad also pay to carry it.
