  @Fern_McGovern @SIofting @jckhth Nope. You can pay for a better service. Just as you can have Freeview TV, standard channels, most in standard definition but functional, or you can pay more for Netflix/Amazon/etc, Sky or BT with movies and sport in HD. Same principle applies.

  @Claire_Pickard @sueashton3000 Many residents in Sunderland & along the Durham Coast also receive Freeview Channels from the Bilsdale transmitter. The fire is also likely to have knocked out about 30 relay stations, which "feed" on signals from Bilsdale. I wouldn't like to climb up the transmitter to fix it!

  @CrabbyValiant @back_the_BBC That's starting to change: Anyone with a Sky Glass TV no longer needs to turn over, as the HD service is fully regionalised. Virgin Media and iPlayer users are up next for the upgrade. Sky, Freesat and Freeview due to be upgraded before the end of 2022.

  Cobblers from Freeview I replaced all cables power and internet and took down all the accessories such as dvd player so all we have is basic box and television all new but it even blew out the satellite and I spent 1/2 hour reset It is Not our Cables it is Broadcast Aerial Hacker

  @agapanthus49 When people start talking about abolishing the Licence Fee they mistakenly think its a BBC Licence fee. It's not and never has been. Its also previously used to fund the Digital TV Roll out for Freeview, S4C, Maybe the debate is how much BBC should receive from the Licence.

  Would be cool if @vodafoneNZ did a software update on the VodafoneTV units just prior to them being shut down that turned them into an untethered Freeview/internet TV hub.

  Wait. I've been talking to workmates, & it turns out that people who don't have vodafoneTV (RIP) or old mysky: (a) watch freeview LIVE with ADVERTS (wtf) (b) or ONLY watch things on streaming (c) and just accept they can't record+rewind TV (d) use an aerial or sat dish. REALLY?

  The best thing about having my phone contract and home internet with @ThreeUK is that when it goes down in my area I get to sit in the dark with a cold cup of tea and watch Freeview.
