@Matey30 @virginmedia Nothing less than I’ve come to expect from them. Service has been so bad which is why we’ve left their tv service. Had to keep the broadband for now due to limitations of other local providers. Now watching freeview…

Dear @Channel4 please can you add live streaming to your 4OD service. My Freeview signal is shocking and I'm missing Bake off and this is very distressing

@theplopster1999 That already exists - called Freeview and it’s crap with virtually no new content - that is what you’d end up with for poor people - even cheapest subscription now is nearly £300 per year

  • Paulmh5 Paul Hughes (@Paulmh5) reported

@RussInCheshire These set of stats don't even cover that the licence fee pays in to support the infrastructure to deliver the "other channels" including broadband roll-outs as well as being a founding force behind Freeview. #SaveOurBBC

  • kentindell Ken Tindell (@kentindell) reported

@stephenkb @colinelves There’s a technical issue with existing Freeview (DVB-T2 as rolled out in the UK) equipment being used for content access. It’s impractical to turn conventional TV into pay TV. So it will have to be free to air plus top up TV via streaming and/or another box.

  • gildy61 Random Jottings of Gildersleeve (@gildy61) reported

@MrJohnNicolson @theSNP discussed how Sky would affect broadcasting in the UK. And he was fearful of Murdoch's influence. It killed off the original BSB idea with the little satellite dishes. A mini network of ITV channels though technically the latter sort've returned using Freeview/Sky's platform.

@Forces_TV Was really getting into this tonight, but sadly forces tv on my freeview has lost signal from the Com 7 transmitter 😭

  • Montrealbloke Richard - Entrepreneur & progressive 🇨🇦 🇵🇸 (@Montrealbloke) reported

@andymhamilton Is one of the ideas. Need Freeview to do encryption, probably will do in 2027. Hope it is subscription, think Beeb has something to offer, just slimmed down. Sell most radio off would help.

  • LordWilsonVILLA LordWilsonVILLA🦁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿UAI (@LordWilsonVILLA) reported

@Stanhope2011VJ the last time they said they would make cuts they said BBC Three tv channel and the Asian Network radio would be cut in the end, they only took BBC Three off Freeview but they didn't cut the Asian Network radio station

  • IT_Maverick ITMaverick (@IT_Maverick) reported

Many pensioners in this country rely on Freeview and don't have sky, Netflix etc, the irony is for them to get the services they enjoy now will cost 20+ per month in private subscriptions. Good news for Murdoch bad news for the pensioners. #BBCLicenceFee

  • jamesoffofleeds James in Leeds (@jamesoffofleeds) reported

@TomSwarbrick1 There are no good alternatives to the BBC licence fee. Will BBC TV be taken off Freeview and put behind a paywall? My grandparents couldn’t work a streaming service? Does Global want to compete for advertising revenue with a commercial BBC radio network? Bonkers!

  • stansmith1970 Stan Smith (@stansmith1970) reported

@CAA_Official Most of the defund the BBC tossers would happily cite "Only fools & horses" as their favourite comedy. They also seem to fail to recognise the Freeview channels they watch and it's infrastructure are provided in part by the BBC whilst they are sat watching BBC repeats on 'Dave'
