There's an important point to be made about internet freedom and search algorithms but I can't be bothered all that so... The internet is like Freeview now. "Do you want this crap thing you didn't ask for on CNN 1, CNN 2, or CNN extra?" 😾

Can’t believe how truly terrible EETV is. Tuning freeview channels is atrocious. Currently get 43, no BBC, ITV or any basic ones using new aerial. If it does find them they just disappear. Bedroom TV gets all the freeview ones and that’s on an old aerial in the same spot. #EETV

@mrjamesob If the Gammon aren't careful, the only British values we'll have left will be brown sauce, calling Freeview "Normal Telly" and wrought iron silhouettes of a WW2 solider we're told to never forget, even though he died defending Europe, The Rule of Law, and Refugees.

Freeview channel 205 POP linear channel and Freeview channel 208 POP Player will closes on Monday 1st December 2025 Closure of Pop Channel on Freeview Key Details Date of Closure: The Pop channel will cease broadcasting on Freeview on December 1, 2025. Affected Channels: Both Pop and Tiny Pop will no longer be available on Freeview, Sky, or Virgin Media. Reason for Closure: The decision is due to a significant decline in viewership and commercial viability in the children's TV market. Transition to Streaming New Format: After the closure, Pop will transition to a streaming-only service on Freeview. This means viewers will need an internet-connected device to access the content. FAST Channels: Pop will continue to be available through Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV (FAST) platforms, allowing access to its content online. Remaining Options Other Free Channels: After the closure, the main free-to-air options for children's programming will be limited to BBC, CBBC, CBeebies, and Channel 5's Milkshake!. This marks the end of over two decades of broadcasting for the Pop channels, which have been a staple in children's television in the UK.

@sarky_sheena I just stayed in Travelodge in Mickelgate York. The bed was bliss and I had tea and coffee and Freeview. I really appreciate the cost as a poor author needing to stay in a hotel for research.
