@Sonic_Sinclair @bbcmicrobot Technically it is, there's support for it in DVB. There's several channels on DVB satellite that uses it, not sure there's any on freeview. Certainly all the original services shutdown or moved to MHEG. The BBC mheg service was incredible but that's shutdown now too 🙁

One bad thing about #Freeview TV is all the begging adverts. Ignore em all, ain't contributing towards inflated staff salaries. Plenty of local little charities.

@BotFinderUK Let them pay for it then - and exempt the others from a compulsory licence fee to watch tv even if you never watch the BBC. No one is forced to pay to watch Sky or GB News - they are free on freeview. They are forced to pay for the BBC if they want to watch any live tv.

@Sargon_of_Akkad I've been thinking about this. If Sky is funded from subscriptions why is the awful Sky News on Freeview? It should be banned from Freeview because it's using it subscription revenue stream to distort the free to air market.

@ArchRose90 Its about time we had choice and not an arbitrary tax just to watch OTHER channels on freeview who are funded by adverts. BBC should be funded through adverts or by a subscription service

The licence fee funds TV programmes that represent British values and issues. It funds world class news and sports coverage. It funds education for children. It funds Freeview. BBC is a human organisation which means it makes mistakes but the alternative would is inferior.

@BenInRushcliffe @GBNEWS So they should be moved from the 'News' section of the Freeview schedule. Give them a channel number similar to the Food Network or QVC.
