@FreeviewAdvice We have a relatively new television that, although we have retuned it, we do not get any main channels - BBC1 etc and several other channels. Could it be a receiver problem or a Freeview problem. Also takes ages to change channels. (Milton Keynes)

@graeme_from_IT @Ofcom Looks like events have overtaken themselves. With the EU banning the channel thus cutting off the Astra satellite uplink, it's down for Sky & Freesat viewers (and YouTube has blocked the channel for EU & UK viewers), and that disconnection appears to have also affected Freeview.

  • lanerobertlane Robert Falla-Louvét 🔭🪐🚀 (@lanerobertlane) reported

@scottygb @FloraCarmichael @alistaircoleman Freeview feed seemed to get to Aqiva via the Hotbird satellite, since RT on freeview went down when that feed was cut, as opposed to when the Astra 2 satellite (carrying sky/freesat’s feed) dropped it.

  • lanerobertlane Robert Falla-Louvét 🔭🪐🚀 (@lanerobertlane) reported

@scottygb @FloraCarmichael @alistaircoleman Freeview feed seemed to go to Aqiva via the Hotbird satellite, since RT on freeview went down when that feed was cut, as opposed to when the Astra 2 satellite (carrying sky/freesat’s seed) dropped it.

  • JoeClitherow Joe Clitherow (@JoeClitherow) reported

@Barry4EU @Agar5588 That's essentially what I said. The feed originates in Moscow and is uploaded to satellite. It is irrelevant that it goes via an intermediary upload The point was that if it is shut down at SES then that also terminates Freeview as well as Sky. Which was the original question

  • StevieHemmings Steven Hemmings - License to till 💙 (@StevieHemmings) reported

@richardxxx4 @Noundela1 Are you getting it via internet or TV service such as Freeview, Sky etc.

  • maxy_durand **** (@maxy_durand) reported

@Otto_English It was still broadcasting for a while on Freeview, then taken down. I don't suppose many remainers have heard Freeview though

  • Forager26 Tom Paterson (@Forager26) reported

@InsideOutCJ I believe RT has now been taken down from Freeview.

  • AngleseyPete Pete Baars (@AngleseyPete) reported

@Dez45346395 @alan_shaefer EU ban means Luxembourg based SES shut down their feed of RT. Sky and FreeSat receive their feed from SES, it's likely that Freeview received from the same source.

  • Jim_Cornelius Jim Cornelius🇺🇦🕊 (@Jim_Cornelius) reported

Note: the Freeview service obtains its feed from the satellite broadcast.

  • JohnTurner2021 John Turner (@JohnTurner2021) reported

@BreakIntoProg Went down at about 1645 when they lost their SES feed. Without the Astra satellite they can't feed the Freeview platform.
