People who have Freeview - is it just a one off cost for the box or subscription and can you record stuff? (Am trying to figure out tv options and can't get virgin and sky i think you need a dish. Aerial is crap here)

@FreeviewAdvice Their helpline guy said that the issue might be with Freeview and that the mast was secure. I can get Free view from Eston Nab. Please between you get it sorted.

@GBNEWS Well I'm hoping production quality head increased since I last tried it. But the SD picture quality is unwatchably poor, do until it comes to HD on Freeview I can't watch.

@b8eak My God, look at the changes you’ve seen with tv. From just one channel (which closed down for hours on end) to today’s hundreds of channels on cable, Freeview, satellite etc!

Wait. I've been talking to workmates, & it turns out that people who don't have vodafoneTV (RIP) or old mysky: (a) watch freeview LIVE with ADVERTS (wtf) (b) or ONLY watch things on streaming (c) and just accept they can't record+rewind TV (d) use an aerial or sat dish. REALLY?

Jeez 1330 and it's already getting dark!! Cold and windy feels like more snow on it's way. NO WAY OF GETTING WEATHER ALERTS OR FORECAST DUE TO LACK OF TV SIGNAL DUE TO ONGOING FREEVIEW TRANSMITTER FIRE

Would be cool if @vodafoneNZ did a software update on the VodafoneTV units just prior to them being shut down that turned them into an untethered Freeview/internet TV hub.

@FreeviewAdvice @FreeviewTV No, I don't mean *onto* those platforms. I mean a Freeview-produced streaming stick to *be* a platform in addition to the service integrated into some TVs. The problem with those platforms is they don't carry all services. A neutral platform could solve that.
