Enamel (@gin_vodka_fan) reportedCOMMENT: It needs an internet subscription, also an aerial for some progs, if your internet is slow you lose all progs, the manufacturers claim it's the internet problem so you cannot return the TV. It's a complete con for the companies to save supplying Freeview. 🤔🤔🤔

The licence is a poll tax - the poorest and the richest pay the same - and very regressive. Why force the poor to pay to watch freeview tv

Efootball🏴 (@Efootballgame1) reported@ollocoll Bring in food stamps. No car, only able to watch freeview, no internet, family of 5 should only get a 3 bed house and use bunk beds. No holidays. No phone contracts. They get a government issue phone. We need to stop rewarding laziness. People with disabilities can have luxuries.

CharlesWynfordLodge (@2hrTV) reported@BENEFITS_NEWS I don't understand what switching off Freeview does, except I assume forces people to pay for everything? We have an Amazon Fredrick thing but the channels are apps. It's crap half the TV channels you can't even get on it. Freeview is better.

Stephen Neal (@Stephen_Neal) reported@UHD4k @Bobbinz @SVGEurope Afraid although I work for BBC Studios (which makes shows for the BBC) I have no insight into what iPlayer may support in the future. AAC was chosen for Freeview HD because Dolby had no equivalent receiver-mix audio desc'n support in 2009ish when the platform was standardised.

Freeview now is terrible in 2026, full of shovelware channels and hardly any HD channels, SD channels look awful as well.
