Switching off Freeview would make spectrum available for 5/6G, but at the (enormous) cost of putting all that bandwidth on existing connections. Her smart TV supports Netflix, Prime, Sky, but even if she could afford those platforms, she would be terrified of touching a different button on the remote. She sleeps very little and the TV is her only companion. If she can’t return to her familiar menu, she panics. I’ve had desperate calls from her in the evening, petrified that she’s ‘broken’ her TV. She never has, but her swollen arthritic fingers struggle with the tiny, spongy remote buttons. It’s heartbreaking 🥹. The @LabourParty DO NOT GIVE A **** about the vulnerable and elderly. I honestly believe they’re building to a ‘Logan’s Run’ style of totalitarian State 🤬
