  • ProfJohnEllis John Ellis (@ProfJohnEllis) reported from Egham, England

@MariaMichalis @All4 C4 is in talks to join Britbox... and you get surveillance on any streaming service, even ad funded. That’s how they can target the ads and tell you where your nearest car dealership is (new in All4). Only Freeview lets you keep anonymity

  • omotforest david sinfield #pssc (@omotforest) reported from West Molesey, England

To be honest, when you've removed the dependency of other real time tv, i cant see many people chipping in. Many will be paying just to watch their subscription service or Freeview.

  • Putneyman Dave M (@Putneyman) reported from London, England

Only reason I mentioned that song (Tarzan Boy) is because I've been watching a lot on NOW 80s on Freeview channel 83. I didn't realise that apart from some good songs, how much crap there was as well in the 80s 😂

  • JensFallesen Jens Fallesen (@JensFallesen) reported from Hounslow, England

@leksi_p Correct. If you do not have Freeview, Sky or Virgin (or any other cable service), you should not need to pay if you never watch it.

  • vjlorenzato Victoria Lorenzato (@vjlorenzato) reported from Brentford, England

Catholic Twitter UK- help please! Anyone know of a Mass being broadcast on TV tomorrow ( not via internet) Lovely elderly lady has Freeview but no internet.... TIA!

  • themib Martin Bentley, AKA Martin Bentley (@themib) reported from London, England

Also, NXT UK will air on a weeks delay on the Paramount Network, which puts them on Freeview.

  • budgie Lee 'Budgie' Barnett (@budgie) reported from Richmond, England

@DrRacheal @FreeviewTV When I had problems with Freeview, I found their helpline - when I eventually managed to get through to someone - very helpful. Took me step-by-step through the stuff I could check and solved it for me.

  • crazycol Colin Wiseman (@crazycol) reported from Ealing, England

@stevieboywise If that’s Freeview maybe due to high pressure issue again.

Freeview Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • andymacmichael Andy MacMichael (@andymacmichael) reported

@Coldwar_Steve A cultural septic tank, TV turned dystopian ****-fest available on freeview channel 666.

  • rhydsnewi Rhydian Edwards (@rhydsnewi) reported

@LankyCarGuy Because Freeview transmitters have only a fixed number of frequencies they can broadcast a signal on. Each frequency can carry a number of separate channels, but that number depends on the quality. Reduce the quality and you can fit more channels (and more revenue) in.

  • FreeviewAdvice Freeview Advice (@FreeviewAdvice) reported

@mattohare @BBC @ITV Hi, We are sorry to hear you have been experiencing issues with Freeview. We ask for these details so we can determine your transmitter and check if there is any issues or faults. If you wish for us to look into this for you please DM us and we will look into this for you.

  • jsinclair29 James Sinclair (@jsinclair29) reported

@JanetMcwee We have no aerial, have satellite dish that we use for FreeSat. Took the thing down a few years back was thinking of putting it back up to get Freeview, new one.

  • raytor Ray #indyref2 (@raytor) reported

@weblivz Haven't renewed subscription, must find new stuff, being stuck with freeview is awful.

  • thematabot Matt (@thematabot) reported

@LankyCarGuy Who cares if it's on freeview **** paying hundred a month for television

  • PCarmichaelVO Paul Carmichael (@PCarmichaelVO) reported

@Oldgitsville The disabled as nobody else makes programmes for them. Same goes for Welsh and Gaelic speakers. Also school kids who access BBC Educational resources for free at school/college & the poor/elderly who use Freeview would be screwed as the licence fee pays to maintain transmitters.

  • angelauk1900 Angela🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧 (@angelauk1900) reported

@JanetMcwee I haven't had a TV aerial for about 20 years. No longer have a Sky box so I watch Freesat via TV ( similar to Freeview) and stream everything else, catchup, iplayers, netflix etc via internet although I do subscribe to NOW TV which is a Sky streaming service.

  • TheVietGwent GJPowell (@TheVietGwent) reported

@YoungmanMj @Owenins That's way beyond my technical expertise, and I would expect large swathes of England can pick-up S4C via Freeview anyway? S4C would be paying for broadcasting in Wales in any event, if they could afford it, and it's the spill over that would be the problem?

  • martincasson Martin Casson (@martincasson) reported

@OldRoberts953 We very rarely watch BBC programmes- not much to interest us. It’s normally other freeview channels or at a stretch a subscription service.
