@jaxlfc_jj @YaTerrynorris70 It’s not restricted to the BBC. If you watch or record live TV on any channel - either through your TV or through a website - then you need a TV licence. This applies whether you receive Freesat, Freeview or a pay-TV service in your home, & whether or not you watch BBC channels.

  • gold123win reg morris (@gold123win) reported from Neston, England

  • PCarmichaelVO Paul Carmichael (@PCarmichaelVO) reported

@d0hertyry4n @wilsonfromnorth @NadineDorries What’s that got to do with educational resources every school/college use, maintaining Freeview transmitters so the elderly/poor have access to TV, having programming that is made for the disabled community? These things aren’t made by anyone else because they’re not profitable.

  • timrollpickerin Tim Roll-Pickering (@timrollpickerin) reported

I'd feel a lot more positive about the @BBC if it sorted out its @Freeview signal here so that it doesn't become unwatchable when it gets a bit hot. And no @FreeviewAdvice it's not about retuning sets, it's about transmitting on part of the band the transmitter is optimised for.

  • chrisbardell Chris Bardell (@chrisbardell) reported

@JoshHarris91 @davidschneider Explain how subscription service will work with Freeview.

  • Insurance_Rich Richard Scott (@Insurance_Rich) reported

@MrTrevMcCarthy @DaveHogg2 @LeeJBBC I don't need the BBC if I break my leg. We generally all go to school - some pay twice if they go private. Freeview exists. How on Earth can you comment about an affordable service - how many other countries force payment to turn on your TV?

  • ThatJoelfella That (BLANK) fella 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ (@ThatJoelfella) reported

@PaulM30033923 @Radioheady2021 @NadineDorries Guess you don’t watch a single BBC televison show, radio programme, or BBC funded film or read any BBC website or make use of the Freeview transmitter network?

  • HelloPalendrome Hannah Jones Design (@HelloPalendrome) reported

@rach0907 @LlamaBusiness Virgin's dreadful for price hikes alongside declining service. Scrapped it all when we moved, can get everything we want on Freeview/Prime/Netflix/iPlayer. Then got a Humax box so we can record stuff if we want to. EE's internet is brilliant for the price too

  • gsydom Dominic Wheatley (@gsydom) reported

@PCarmichaelVO @NadineDorries BBC does not own / fund Freeview network. Public subsidy of minority programming should continue but does not require a licence fee tax. BBC does not need to be for profit but no-one should be forced to buy its generally poor mainstream programming.

  • PCarmichaelVO Paul Carmichael (@PCarmichaelVO) reported

@d0hertyry4n @NadineDorries Hmm. So the issue is you don’t actually know what the BBC does. As I say, maintaining transmitter masts for Freeview, educational resources every school and college uses, making programming for the disabled community…those things don’t matter?

  • outofoffice20 **** Tingler🙈🙉🙊 (@outofoffice20) reported

@jamesdeeganMC @BBC Agreed. To add insult to this we keep losing the digital signal on a regular basis on freeview so keep missing out on watching programmes.

  • PCarmichaelVO Paul Carmichael (@PCarmichaelVO) reported

@thenoikz @NadineDorries The problem is the services rhe provide that the disabled would have nothing without, the educational resources schools wouldn’t have, the fact that Freeview transmitters wouldn’t be maintained and the lack of Welsh/Gaelic language services. All “not your problem” though, eh?
