@jaxlfc_jj @YaTerrynorris70 It’s not restricted to the BBC. If you watch or record live TV on any channel - either through your TV or through a website - then you need a TV licence. This applies whether you receive Freesat, Freeview or a pay-TV service in your home, & whether or not you watch BBC channels.

UK Terrestrial TV (@ukdtt) reported
Apparently RT is now closed down on #Freeview.
-
Mike (@mpk) reported
@veronica_landon @lexheath @PippaCrerar Ofcom is doing everything by the book. Lots of investigations running into various RT-related issues but they (rightly) don’t have the power to simply yank channels off air. Whether RT can still pay their bills for carriage on Freeview et al with the sanctions is another thing..

Dr Devra Kay (@LaBloggeuse) reported
@RolandCPowell @droyls It was going strong on UK Freeview until middle of this pm. Then a one-line message appeared: This service is currently not available. They had been criticizing the French ban just before that. Thanks for the info.
-
David McQueen (@damcqueen) reported
RT just stopped transmission on Freeview. Increasingly detached from reality in last few years and unwatchable this week, but the danger of censoring news is it works both ways. Now all indie media in Moscow has been shut down and western media will be harder to see. Who judges..

RT has disappeared from Freeview. Has it finally been taken down?
-
Scott Bryan (@scottygb) reported
@FloraCarmichael @alistaircoleman yep - but Freeview’s signal comes from elsewhere. They pulled the plug too.
-
Colin Knight (@colin1951uk) reported
@a516digital So this is an Arqiva decision to shut down on Freeview?
-
Colin (@ceejay_epping) reported
@NM_Rdg @Jim_Cornelius @NadineDorries Yes but Freeview got its programme feed via satellite and that was shut down by the EU at about 4.45pm. This is why Freeview is now showing the ‘not available’ message.
-
Peter Clarke (@EdenFisher) reported
@NadineDorries how come RT is still on Freeview, you said they'd been shut down. #fail

Robert Falla-Louvét 🔭🪐🚀 (@lanerobertlane) reported
@scottygb @FloraCarmichael @alistaircoleman Freeview feed seemed to go to Aqiva via the Hotbird satellite, since RT on freeview went down when that feed was cut, as opposed to when the Astra 2 satellite (carrying sky/freesat’s seed) dropped it.
