If you watch or record live TV on any channel - either through your TV or through a website - then you need a TV licence. This applies whether you receive Freesat, Freeview or a pay-TV service in your home, & whether or not you watch BBC channels.

Plus, if you watch something as a stream, it is automatically logged in the official viewing figures, which won't happen on FreeView.

I couldn’t check what he’d done because the cables are inaccessible to me (and the Virgin Hub was out of reach!)
