  • steve44uk Stephen Bouchard (@steve44uk) reported

@AceGerry @ShimonaGordon You need to be covered by a TV Licence if you watch live on any channel, TV service or streaming service - such as ITVX, All 4, YouTube, Sky, Virgin, BT, Freeview

  • UKAT_George UKAT George, The UK Action Team ℹ (@UKAT_George) reported

@Hazzreid @fitgeek_uk No they make money from commercials. The issue as I understand it is the BBC own freeview and receive money from commercial stations for a channel space. So essentially they can charge for freeview use via a licence fee. Sadly itv sold freeview to the BBC.

  • BRIANAL07933883 BRIAN ALLEN (@BRIANAL07933883) reported

@_RiCERiCE_ @FreeviewTV Sign in to Freeview Play and accept the terms and conditions this should solve the problem

  • StBeany StBeany (@StBeany) reported

@bt_uk The other problem is that your channel numbering does not tally with any TV listings, not even with Freeview?

  • Blockbustargirl Natasha (@Blockbustargirl) reported

I didn't think I could watch the Oscars cos I don't have Sky Showcase, was about to turn the tv off, thought I'd try Sky Arts (its on Freeview so I can get that channel) on the off chance its on there and it is, I've never watched the Oscars before just seen clips #Oscars

  • ViolaAppleton6 Viola Appleton (@ViolaAppleton6) reported

@o_sheilagh @albundysdad No one is forcing you to cancel your sky, Freeview etc. Just watch on demand.

  • larissaweems lettie (@larissaweems) reported

when i was young we couldn’t afford anything like sky and freeview wasn’t really a thing, and then when it was introduced we still couldn’t have it because we didn’t get a signal. citv and bbc was the only way i could watch children’s tv after school/sick days and i feel like

  • spacemanfranko Franko (@spacemanfranko) reported

@TheVikingDane @GayTory You only need a TV License if you watch/record live television on any service (e.g. BBC1/C4/Freeview, Sky,Virgin) or if you use iPlayer. BBCs goons rely on self incrimination so don't ever let them in unless they have a warrant and police/official present.

  • jonwensley Jon Wensley (@jonwensley) reported

@Cyanosis1966 @BATC_London @DPJHodges 1) How do you (technically) have a subscription service that doesn’t require a set top box/internet connectivity? 18m people use Freeview, & 1.8m households have no internet access 3) If you need to pay £20/month to Sky/Virgin to access it, it is more expensive than a licence fee
