@jaxlfc_jj @YaTerrynorris70 It’s not restricted to the BBC. If you watch or record live TV on any channel - either through your TV or through a website - then you need a TV licence. This applies whether you receive Freesat, Freeview or a pay-TV service in your home, & whether or not you watch BBC channels.

@Ossyref I know but it’s not on Freeview. Not everyone has YouTube for TV or ability to watch on app. We ok as have Virgin but it’s still crap they ain’t showing it for others.

@gro_edu @COYR26 @DeborahMeaden Liar. Freeview is jointly owned by all the main broadcasters including Sky and the network is operated by another company.

@RevRichardColes @carlistyping The BBC gets 86% of licence fee revenue. So we could drastically reduce the fee people are strong armed into paying if they were self funded. Or at least give people the option not to fund the BBC whilst keeping other Freeview Channels. Make the BBC a subscription service 👍

@Eyeswideopen69 @carol_casey1 @caporicci_r Should that not be a choice though? You are talking about forcing everyone to have a TV License even if they do not watch BBC but watch other freeview channels. Its like saying sky has the best of movies so you must pay even if you do not use the service.

@JordanRasko @seanforeilly @MicaKilabie Bottom line, if it's too expensive don't spend for it. Freeview still exists and paid for by ads. If it's price gouging, make a complaint with ACCC. Using 'expensive' to justify piracy is just plain wrong.

@SLUG_MrIBlack and as public money went into it, the code was shared with ITV, Ch4, Ch5. It innovates with loads of tech which it shares. It has public services like language transmissions and there was a section to help people switch to Freeview. What the plan about removing its funding?

@Michael37822549 @ChrisMousse3 @JuliaHB1 So you're happy paying a licence fee if it gets spent on other things than just the BBC? What about the support of the Freeview network that allows free-to-air TV to he broadcast. Or the broadband roll-out. Or SC4? That's not a Welsh language station.

@ElaineMatuszew1 @NadineDorries Other TV channels do exist. Not just BBC, and also many of them can be found on Freeview ( not internet / streaming ). Besides, this issue isn't about getting rid of th BBC. It will still exist, but it will be funded differently
