@jaxlfc_jj @YaTerrynorris70 It’s not restricted to the BBC. If you watch or record live TV on any channel - either through your TV or through a website - then you need a TV licence. This applies whether you receive Freesat, Freeview or a pay-TV service in your home, & whether or not you watch BBC channels.

@softwarescotty (Original reply now corrected). That's fair enough, and unfortunate for sure. But surely if Freeview doesn't cover you, the solution might be Freesat instead?

  • Lost_In_Films_ LostInFilms🎬 (@Lost_In_Films_) reported

@TalkingPicsTV Only been watching about 4/5 years since we got Freesat we had terrible Freeview reception, we could only get about 8 channels & Talking Pictures wasn't one of them 😭

Can you get battery powered freeview TVs? I don't mean rechargeable batteries, but ones where you stick a few AAs in? I had an analogue one but never seen a digital version. I'm not getting much luck with Google. All I'm finding is plug or rechargable powered.

  • SuffolkRoyal SuffolkRoyal (@SuffolkRoyal) reported

@WinterfellT Whatever anyone’s views of the bbc, no one should have to pay the corporation a compulsory tax for the right to watch live tv, especially live tv on non bbc channels. It’s time for the bbc to become either a commercial freeview, or subscription, service.
