  • AndyMcK1982 Andy McKeown (@AndyMcK1982) reported from Liverpool, England

@jaxlfc_jj @YaTerrynorris70 It’s not restricted to the BBC. If you watch or record live TV on any channel - either through your TV or through a website - then you need a TV licence. This applies whether you receive Freesat, Freeview or a pay-TV service in your home, & whether or not you watch BBC channels.

  • annmurphy_wigan Ann Murphy (@annmurphy_wigan) reported from Wigan, England

@FreeviewAdvice Well, after waiting 2 weeks for a Freeview engineer we are told we need a new aerial. Also, they can’t help us because we have Sky! So they change Winter Hill and now we have to pay. Why didn’t they say this 3 weeks ago...😳

  • chef247patrick patrick efc mc (@chef247patrick) reported from Bolton, England

@steviemac2010 @LFC_NewStories Watch them cancel the freeview now

  • quodignoratum Myles Winstone (@quodignoratum) reported from Warrington, England

@TalkingPicsTV Definitely. We struggle getting Freeview and as you’re not on BT TV I’m missing my fix!

  • 2013jamiepep James Pepperd (@2013jamiepep) reported from St Helens, England

I don't have an ariel or freeview I rely on your piece of shit @virginmedia #VirginMedia

  • bulldogbyrne julie byrne (@bulldogbyrne) reported from Hindley, England

Why do I keep paying for TV service which is shit @BTGroup I get better service on indoor freeview aerial

  • Toffeewolfie Philip whitehurst (@Toffeewolfie) reported from Liverpool, England

@rlwjones @Nick_Metcalfe @MarkyBunny They made one champions League game per round free to air..usually the crap games though..they used to have a channel on Freeview..

  • karlmcintyre Karl McIntyre (@karlmcintyre) reported from St Helens, England

  • FlissKitson Fliss Kitson (@FlissKitson) reported

@alexreid1964 @_williamdoyle Yeah NOW TV 7 day free trial, cancel it right after setting it up.. bobs yer uncle. It’ll be on freeview Sky Arts channel again but probably at a ridiculous hour in the morning

  • Daverjr David_bythesea (@Daverjr) reported

@annrnic1 But freeview isn’t a universal service U.K. wide. How many chs you get depends on which transmitter your tv antenna points at. For example, where I live we don’t get sky news on freeview.

  • NomadicBritish The British Nomad👳🏻‍♂️ (@NomadicBritish) reported

What happened next truly happened, due to positioning around the table, only myself & the boy could see the TV, he accidentally typed in the number for a freeview **** channel. Not sure what to do, I elected to ignore what he had done & head-down, nibbled on the samosa (3/5)

  • SteffApCennydd SteffApCennydd (@SteffApCennydd) reported

@shearersbuddy @Inandoutagain Because the majority of UK viewers get their tv service via Freeview and it doesn't have the tech capability to go to a subs set up. Cummings had this explained to him in detail which is why his & Bozo's plan to scrap the tv licence was quietly shelved.

  • timburrows Tim Burrows (@timburrows) reported

@JCalvert_music Not sure about that. Their intended audience already has YouTube to see this stuff on. Flicking through Freeview sucks. Maybe there'll be some traction with soundbite snippets being shared online? But I just can't see it being a new Sky News. Maybe it's a long game

  • lewysstacey Andrew Harris (@lewysstacey) reported

@SteffApCennydd What you talking about, freeview could still continue for all the other channels all the BBC would need to do is make a sub service for its existing service as the BBC, they already have the iPlayer set up it's relatively easy to change that to a sub service.

  • moore241128 John Moore (@moore241128) reported

@HXValley @tnewtondunn @TimesRadio .......and makes a contribution to Freeview and Freesat so makes me laugh when you hear folks say I never watch anything licence fee related

  • a_parandroid paranoidedededed (@a_parandroid) reported

@BBCNews the price isn't a dealbreaker, although if they stopped aggressively bullying those who own a tv but don't watch freeview, they would save a shitload of money and could afford to bring the license fee down, which would be nice

  • lewysstacey Andrew Harris (@lewysstacey) reported

@SteffApCennydd @shearersbuddy @Inandoutagain But the BBC set up britbox a subscription service easy enough. The other Freeview channels can stay where they are free of charge.

  • KoalaBarry Barry (the Koala). (@KoalaBarry) reported

@FredTedHug 1) No - no post Youview box stopped working, spent all am trying to sort it including factor reset, nothing. Rung Plusnet, no longer supporting Freeview, may need a new box charge could be £160, but system would shutdown in Nov at end of contract - decided to cancel TV option
