@donmcgowan You have to admit the BBC model and size is outdated. We have lots of freeview channels that do entertainment now and it could move what it thinks is value to a subscription service while keeping a world news channel at a very minimal cost. Which could then be covered by tax.

  • Gmcswineyyy gerardmcswiney (@Gmcswineyyy) reported

@blaiklockBP @BBC They will need the 1000 pounds to pay for a subscription service, no BBC means no freeview and watching TV will become very expensive.

  • Mr_Pink13 Mr Pink 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (@Mr_Pink13) reported

@Sargon_of_Akkad I've been thinking about this. If Sky is funded from subscriptions why is the awful Sky News on Freeview? It should be banned from Freeview because it's using it subscription revenue stream to distort the free to air market.

  • sabrina777z SabrinaEvans01 (@sabrina777z) reported

@AnnekaRice @BBCBreaking But why must I pay for a service I do not use. now we got freeview and Prime and Netflix the license fee should only be for those that watch BBC. I don't hate it just nothing on there of any interest .

  • CorianderSoap Cilantro (@CorianderSoap) reported

@BenInRushcliffe @GBNEWS So they should be moved from the 'News' section of the Freeview schedule. Give them a channel number similar to the Food Network or QVC.

  • AVFC_Jimbob James (Jimbo) (@AVFC_Jimbob) reported

@aquitainexox @DefundBBC Im quite amazed at the amount of people who actually pay any license fee. Ive never paid money to watch freeview television and never will. Ive been having a visit to my adress for about 15 years. They wont do anything.

  • Woodydryad Sally Wood (@Woodydryad) reported

@BurnsideWasTosh @matthewsyed Cant get any signal here for even beeb radio so me either! Still bullied to pay the licence though which seems like a form of extortion tbh: i mean if i cannot get the signal for any of it, surely i should be exempt?? I get some freeview, 5, 4 and itv and thats it

  • skyblue_England skyblue_england ⬅︎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇬🇧🇮🇱 (@skyblue_England) reported

@Lucy_Worsley @BBC Glad to hear the people in your inbox like your work. As for me, I'd prefer those same BBC viewers funded it voluntarily, instead of the rest of us being legally forced to pay just to watch live Freeview programs. The license fee must go and the BBC become a subscription service.

  • dickietunnel Richard (@dickietunnel) reported

@HarrietHarman We do not wish to pull it down We are happy for you to continue paying to fund it If you’re on the right side of history it will have a bright future We simply do not wish to fund the BBC in order to be allowed to watch free TV like Ch 4, 5, ITV & Freeview

  • Gmcswineyyy gerardmcswiney (@Gmcswineyyy) reported

@reformexposed Ooh maybe because if the bbc were forced to go subscription, it would get rid of freeview, funded by the tv licence, so to watch tv you would have to pay a blooming fortune on a subscription service?
