I have no issue with 2FA, I welcome it with open arms. Unfortunately SMS is far from secure to start with and limits functionality. Give me a token any day. So many apps to use, Google, Authy, Yubikey. @giffgaff failed massively here.

@oldguy537 @PhilCygnus I had the same problem with a UK provider GiffGaff when I was visiting that miserable country. Even had proof I cancelled the account. Still trying to charge me…. UK is a country where the consumer has no rights! Won’t be going there again!

Sure if everyone's on @giffgaff and you topped up in the last 3 months you can still text each other but not to other networks, but only if everyone uses it and only for a 3 month window. If the only solution is everyone uses us, the more appealing option is not to use GG at all.

@stuartdan88 @giffgaff Hi Stuart 👋 you must get one month goodybag but you can cancel after by turning off the recur setting

Gotta love @giffgaff ‘s help page - our data coverage sucks in your area, so, yeah… use someone’s wifi. So why am I paying you for data??? Got this sim as a trial to see how it went but after the problems on holiday and now no data in the largest city in Scotland… not good.

Danny Stuart (@stuartdan88) reported
@giffgaff Oh great thanks so I don’t need to cancel it. I just won’t insert into a phone as it won’t be needed. Thanks

@giffgaff having been through an agent I am frankly astonished at the poor service and lack of understanding. The reason is she apparently sent too many text messages but was never warned that this might happen, and nothing in the policies to say what constitutes too many.
