@giffgaff I got a payg sim for my spare phone yesterday and spent 30 quid on credit so I can use it as a data tethering device for my laptop at home. Live in a rural area so no fibre broadband option. Sadly, there is zero 4G signal. I thought all networks had this sorted?!

@WeekendWireless @giffgaff If you choose to just add PAYG credit to a giffgaff sim (minimum £10) rather than a monthly plan that credit will never expire as long as you use the sim to make a call, text or use some data at least once every 6 months so ideal for a backup

Mobile broadband has now become the cheapest way to get online in the UK (though not yet in some countries, eg Germany). If your ISP is messing you about or speeds are too slow, go for early termination & go on mobile broadband. Smarty is Three and GiffGaff is O2, for example.
