It’s already used by more than 500 million people and there’s a problem with audio calls on giffgaff - the calls drop all the time on iPhone 12 Pro Max. It works well on WiFi though.

If the sims fits swap the sim to see if it works in your phone and yours in hers. Sometimes that even refreshes the network settings to fix the issue. Try that.
