@HSBC_UK To get permission to transfer house purchase monies to my solicitor. Tried Colchester, Ipswich and Chelmsford. I live in Harwich so Colchester would be good. Travelling difficult with #MH issues.

  • FlyingRoobarb Vicky Townshend (@FlyingRoobarb) reported from Harwich, England

Been trying to make an in person branch appointment online for last 24 hours @HSBC_UK. Nothing available at all for any day. Online help just tells me to do what I've been doing. #PTSD now kicking in.

  • Adamivell Adam Ivell (@Adamivell) reported from Colchester, England

The hsbc worker here in the Colchester branch is an absolute gentleman and he also is wildly frustrated, unbelievable that he can’t help me without outside help due to @HSBC_UK & how they operate

HSBC Issues Reports

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in social media:

  • simonnread simon read (@simonnread) reported

@RedCircleFP @HSBC_UK HSBC made profits of £2bn in the last quarter. It could easily afford to continue to provide the service it has offered for years, but has chosen not to.

  • CllrJamesDawson Cllr James Dawson 🇬🇧🏳️‍🌈 (@CllrJamesDawson) reported

@HSBC_UK @wetgaz1329 That didn’t answer the question, if people don’t have the means they are disenfranchised. Especially the elderly and vulnerable who in the main access services face to face

  • nikhil_woodruff Nikhil Woodruff (@nikhil_woodruff) reported

@agw1437 @bouldie @HSBC_UK It shouldn’t be the responsibility of private companies to handle this though. Government should give people with difficulties more money to access the extra help they need, just like any other disability

  • langcliffelady Linda Evans (@langcliffelady) reported from Langcliffe, England

@HSBC_UK so i am supposed to drive a round trip of 35 miles to bank our village hall cash and cheques. We don’t even have a direct bus service to there. Our branch always has elderly customers in looking for banking assitance. Shame on you. @JulianSmithUK

  • simonnread simon read (@simonnread) reported

@RedCircleFP @HSBC_UK But you can understand customers' anger when the service they rely on is withdrawn

  • CostfordE Elizabeth Costford (@CostfordE) reported

@HSBC_UK closing 100+ branches: I was on hold for 1hr plus today only to be told to I have to go into my branch to resolve the issue. Sure it’s a good idea?

  • wetgaz1329 GAZZA P (@wetgaz1329) reported from Dunfermline, Scotland

@itvnews How will people bank with @HSBC_UK who don't have any access to a mobile phone? This is incredibly short sighted.

  • nikhil_woodruff Nikhil Woodruff (@nikhil_woodruff) reported

@agw1437 @bouldie @HSBC_UK Yes and market forces are very clearly pushing firms to drop customer-facing staff. I think we agree this is bad for a small minority. So the question is who subsidises help for the minority: firms or govt

  • simonnread simon read (@simonnread) reported

@RedCircleFP @HSBC_UK I don't believe for a second that any branch that HSBC is closing only has only one customer a day. It's abandoning loyal customers just to protect tens of billions of pounds of profits. I don't respect the business mantra that profits come first. It stinks.

  • agw1437 A.G.W. 🇬🇧 (@agw1437) reported

@nikhil_woodruff @bouldie @HSBC_UK Banking is and always has been a private service which customers choose to use. The fact that we all do it is no different from, for example, our use of food shops. The govt doesn’t run them for us.
