@mayasdreams @HSBC_UK “Legal” is not the issue. I tried sending in GBP but my (British) bank has added Cuba to it’s list of sanctioned countries because of fear of OFAC fines and despite UK laws saying it’s illegal to impose unilateral US sanctions on Cuba against UK citizens or entities.

@dcinet @m0taz @HSBC_UK I can see why that causes problems, given HSBC are aiming to permanently close 69 branches this year and no doubt more in 2023/4 there's going to be many areas where it'll be impossible to pay cheque into an HSBC branch. Hopefully they'll see sense and scrap the £500 limit

@HSBC_UK unfriendly service from Ana at Reading. I'm not a customer and from that experience I don't want to be. Curt, cold and hostile. Also, why does she bank with Lloyds if she works with HSBC and HSBC are so great? Miffed.

@HSBC_UK I’ve requested an account closure and I was assured it had gone through. I no longer have my account details; can’t use log in/call or app and therefore can’t close it as it is still open as per my credit file. Kindly assist.

Honestly @HSBC_UK this just feels personal now. Why bother having an online support chat line when they say, you'll just have to phone. I tried to phone but was put on hold by an agent, who then didn't come back to me. So disappointed again.
