No adverts normally increases quality, without the anchor of the Beeb, they would sell more and more advertising, meaning less quality. I just turned on the TV and discovered horse racing on @ITV and references to a 'persuader'. It's a whip, not a persuader. If an animal, or human, needs a whip to be persuaded, then there's a problem. Animals should not be whipped.
