  Do not renew your contract if you use @KCOM. The contract will continue anyway, but if you renew and then terminate the contract, you will be subject to draconian termination fees.

  BREAKING: UK telecom regulator Ofcom confirms Starlink is a viable broadband alternative under the UK’s 10 Mbps Broadband USO rules. 🇬🇧 • Ofcom confirmed this directly to UK broadband publication ISPreview. • This means that if affordable Starlink service is available at a property, it may no longer qualify for a USO connection from BT or KCOM. • Some applicants have already been refused a USO connection because Starlink was available. • Back in May, Ofcom said cheaper Starlink plans helped reduce the number of premises without affordable decent broadband to around 4,000. This is good news for Starlink, giving it stronger recognition from the UK regulator as a real broadband solution for remote and underserved areas.

Reports indicate that some applicants have already had their USO requests denied because Starlink service was available at their address. Earlier this year, Ofcom also noted that the introduction of lower-cost Starlink plans helped reduce the number of UK properties without access to affordable, decent broadband to roughly 4,000.   Evidently KCOM are having issues today. Therefore all internet access is down. Home and also businesses. I can't even buy milk from the Co-op as they are also affected. Maybe having a monopoly over such a large area isn't such a good idea after all ...

  @andreajenkyns Firstly, Hull is not in Lincolnshire. So it's not on your patch and is none of your business. Secondly, Hull has never had traditional red phone boxes, having its own independent phone company, KCom. They are cream.

  @indianasc0nes @PollardRach There's no other line based provider in the area for people to review, that's the issue and a lot of people tend only to leave reviews when disgruntled. If any other provider was enter the area it wouldn't make a difference as they would rent Kcom lines though M3 are laying cable

  @HULLCITYREFRESH I’d actually say KC sounds the worst out of KC KCOM and MKM. Maybe each name grew on me so it sounds better to me. I just think saying “we’re at the MKM on Saturday” has a nice ring to it
