They've confirmed the claim but appear to be deliberately dragging it out in order to slow down claims. Presumably Nationwide has asked them to.

Their corp direction belittles customer issues to "complaint or stfu". This has resulted in a non-thorough investigation by a very dismissive complaints handler, who has now closed the case. Shocking customer service.
