Underlying issue is high gas costs and high proportion of gas used to power the grid at the moment, combined with low wind. Had a year or two of good prices due to low demand.

I just find it really odd that in the 21st century we still have to go into a branch (which is closed today btw) usually at times we're working so inconvenient, and present the same ID we would present online? Either be fully online or don't say you are.

Gillian Perris (@GillianPerris) reported@AskNationwide I've been on hold on the phone for an hour and on hold with a chat bot for 30 mins who then cut me off and still no answer to my question. Poor customer services. Any ideas how I can speak to a real person to answer my simple question?

Online chat has no-one available either. Best possible service? Really?

Ash Davidson (@AshDavidsonUK) reported@financefraz @AskNationwide Its a shame @AskNationwide are poor at managing customers though. I was with them 30 years (Nana opened it) and when I went for a mortgage (already had one for 7 years). My DIP was rejected 'due to a technical error' I got a in person appointment for it to be rejected again due to the same error. 2X hard searches on my credit score. Got a better mortgage elsewhere in the end.
