1st day with @virginmedia & **** all is working. Waited all day for an “engineer” to come & make an abysmal attempt at installation before telling me everything was working & then ******* off rather sharpish. Spent the rest of evening on phone trying to sort. Appalling service

@virginmedia @Dan13lBurk3 I spoke to your customer service team who “guaranteed this fault would rectified by 21:25”. I explained the gravity as I needed to finish work for Xmas. They lied!! I’ve now got to drive to London and work through the night! Appalling!

Not sure if it was just me but, my @primevideouk just went a shit for a few mins. Kept kicking me out the game via my smart tv app so switched to app via @virginmedia box and it was stuttering slightly, like a dodgy stream. Rather annoying. #BURMCI #AmazonPrime #Amazon

@virginmedia if you think I am going to be talking to my family over Christmas while my WiFi is down, you can think again. Get the engineer out here or I'm sending you shite in the post daily.

  • sheradondublin
Sheradon Dublin (@sheradondublin) reported from Margate, England

@virginmedia The new box arrived, and the WiFi sorted itself out for now at least. The boosters are still generating the old network also. I’m planning on leaving everything as it is till it goes wrong again, then I’ll call.

@virginmedia services in #Thanet have been off since 1am on the 23rd December and now you are pushing it back until 2pm today for a fix and still no engineer on site - that will be over 36 hours with zero updates to customers right before Christmas. What is happening?!

@virginmedia I would suggest then that the service status should be updated to reflect that situation.

@virginmedia It’s the same problem we always have with your WiFi, it’s patchy at best. Even when I’m standing next to the box

@virginmedia I am extremely unhappy broadband been down since 1.15pm. Booked an engineer. This has been cancelled with no explanation. Can’t book another. Service status says it’s fine but many others online in CT10 says there is an area issue. First person on phone hung up.

  • CaryAWright
Cary Wright (@CaryAWright) reported from Margate, England

@Dan13lBurk3 @virginmedia My neighbour has spoken to Customer Service too, who have informed him that it will not be fixed until the 28th!!!

  • jimmygreen83
James Green (@jimmygreen83) reported from Margate, England

@virginmedia... broadband has been down all day and expected back at 5:25pm, still not working. Now, recheck the app and not expected back until 8am tomorrow! Seriously?! Why? What has happened? How can it be down for that long? Ridiculous, especially when people work from home.

To work for @virginmedia you don’t need a brain cell, maybe the worst company in the UK I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Avoid them at all costs

@virginmedia Not TV we have problems with You installed our fibre on the 29th still isn't working. Every time I call the operator goes through the same script then sends out an engineer. 3 visits so far they all say it's IT. Left my disabled wife and family without internet.

@virginmedia I moved back to you 6 months ago, and until recently things were going okay. But I've just lot service again, I've lost count of how many times we've lost connection in the last 2 weeks or so. What on earth is going on???

  • alidalton
    Ali Dalton (@alidalton) reported

In 2017 I was the first designer at a UK fintech startup now valued at $100m+, with 500+ employees across 60 countries. It was just me, two founders, and two others in a room in London. The work wasn't a redesign. It was branding and the early flows for a payments platform. Nobody in that room called it design strategy. It was five people deciding how the product should work before there was a product. Then I spent almost a decade in the corporate world. Citibank, Mercedes, NatWest, Virgin Media. Products used by 50M+ people. £11M NPV on one project. That world taught me systems thinking, rigour, how to make a decision that survives fifteen stakeholders and a compliance review. It also taught me that six months to ship a signup flow is not a law of physics. It's a byproduct of the org chart. Most funded founders assume those two things come as a package. That if you want big company craft you have to accept big company timelines. You don't. The thinking travels. The process doesn't have to. I didn't leave because the work was bad. It was the best training I could have asked for. I left because I wanted the room of five again. Take everything those companies taught me and run it my way. No six week kickoff. No deck to justify a deck. A way founders can actually work with. So I started my studio last year. 5+ projects since across Fintech, publishing, agri-tech, and two founders launching their brands from zero. It's graft. But it's my graft now. If you're funded, building, and the product works but the numbers don't - that's the exact problem I spend my days on.

@virginmedia You have literally the most infuriating customer service process known to the entire universe. I cannot wait to be out of this Devil spawn of a contract. I actually pray for the down fall of this company with a passion. Zero interest in customer needs just straight aggressive sales tactics. Get out of my life seriously.

Second guess, for @virginmedia… the classic ‘cut the wrong wire’ then a lot of head scratching to work out where the problem was?

@VeltisLeEvil @Thatisdiffi You wait, I guess. But with Virgin Media, my internet very rarely goes down, and if it does, I can just go outside and do something else, like go watch some movies. It's never usually out for more than 3 hours
