Another 24 hours and @VodafoneUK have continued their journey of crap customer service by letting me down yet again. Expect the same tomorrow.

@VodafoneUK 191 doesn’t solve anything. The virtual assistant just tells me to go online and the last 4 times I’ve chatted online they have said they’ve sorted it but never have.

@VodafoneUK can you help please? My wife has spent 5 hrs+ across 8 calls to try and get an unlock code for her phone. This has been going on since June. She’s v frustrated and it’s a poor CX.

@VodafoneUK use their extraordinarily lax, self defined SLAs as a means to weasel out of any reasonable customer expectations.

Hi @VodafoneUK. I’d like to discuss a few things with you over the phone but it doesn’t seem I’m allowed to speak with a human being on any of your customer service providers 🤖 Is this correct? Surely not.

@VodafoneUK @LewisHamilton It’s not #5G that’s the CNN problem, mostly. It’s cowboy agents you & other mobile operators are using in UK towns & cities ramming the cabinets & masts where communities do not want them. Good luck in #MugelloGP Lewis. Let’s go get that century!

@ElectricTempus @VodafoneUK @O2 The thing is that everyone’s experience is different. I’ve been with O2 and Three in the past as well. Like a lot of providers it’s fine when it works but dreadful if you need to get in touch. Need to take a leaf from Monzo Bank customer service.

@maccaspacca1 @GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK If only there was a govt appointed regulator to oversee this industry, that could impose heavy fines for poor performance. If only.

Jonathan Holman

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Same thing here George. We emigrated and there simply was no way for her to cancel her account or contact them to cancel it. Only option was to cancel the DD. Left the UK but wouldn't touch Vodafone again. Not sure if they still write to our old address!
-
Adam Crawford
(@AdzCrawford2003) reported
@VodafoneUK Tell me this, so how are customers supposed to stay connected on the underground when you only have 4G in 4 stations across the whole tube network? Someone could be travelling 1 hour on the network with no signal! Another cost cutting measure? Despicable!
-
Michael Bayly

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Similar story with Vodaphone Australia over me deceased wife's account. It took the intervention of the communications ombudsman to fix. I was told that 80% of their complaints were about Vodafone.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK My sister's husband died in 2015. For 7 years she's been trying to shut down her husband's @Telstra account. On numerous occasions she's been reassured that it's been resolved. Every time she gets another threatening letter her grief & loss is multiplied. This is corporate abuse.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Handling bereavement has become more difficult as companies cut back on customer service and introduce increasingly high hurdles to people trying to switch or close accounts. Anyway, your experience reminds me NOT to switch to #Vodafone

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Has to be corporate strategy, otherwise you would have had one bad call with a bad employee and the next person would have helped. Not only distressing for vulnerable elderly, but anyone grieving and trying to deal with loved ones accounts after death. Criminal

Christopher Overton

@GeorgeMonbiot Yeah VodafoneUK doesn’t sound like a good service period. When I worked telecommunications in the past, contracts it seems could easily be negotiated to severance due to death with retroactive adjustments. Call less than a few minutes. Rigidity is an awful norm.

@GeorgeMonbiot @VodafoneUK Thank goodness my mum could not get on with mobile phones. We bought her a pay as you go and she never used it once, not even to answer it. Shame on you @VodafoneUK
